Definitely use a donor VIN for the Ford Parts site if you need something your truck originally didn't have. I used a 2022 Lariat for my adaptive cruise parts and a 4x4 VIN for the longer lower air dam to put on my 2wd truck after leveling to get back a bit of fuel economy. Works like a charm.
That's what I did when I ordered the second antenna. I used my salesman's VIN since he has the same truck as me WITH nav and Satellite radio.

Can we take this offline or another forum thread? I leveled my truck and have noticed a drop in fuel economy. I am also interested in adaptive cruise. I have so many questions. :)

I don't know. When I pulled the trim panel from the sheet metal, the clip remained inside the hole. There was a metal clip inside a plastic housing and a plastic tether attached to the metal. I had to use brute force to get the plastic and metal clip out of the hole in the sheet metal. And, I damaged the entire fastener assembly. I wound a bunch of tape around the assembly and forced it back into the sheet metal hole. It will probably need to be done again when I remove the trim panel to remove/install the RH antenna.... again. Ugh.
The metal clip and plastic tether was fine for me it was the actual part on the trim that was broke and all white like someone forced it in the hole.

Does anyone here have a clear, or somewhat idea of what trim trucks may have the sat ready ACM, but just have it disabled? A few buddies have 501As with the nav deletes so trying to gauge what might be easy to enable and hook up if its already there.

The only way to know for sure is to pull the ACM from the dash and look at the sticker on it. The SiriusXM radio ID is printed on it.

If you are well versed with Forscan, you could enable the satellite radio setting in the APIM and the ACM to see if the SiriusXM button shows up under Sources. Then look go under Settings to see if your radio ID shows up.

You don't have to have an antenna hooked up to see this under Settings.

I wonder if the radio ID would show up if you go into the engineering mode. That might be an easier method but I didn’t think to try it.

ML3Z-17626-P is the parts department number for the updated 4wd air dam that won’t bend back and get caught on the fixed valence like the early 2021s. It’s a decent amount longer than the 2wd version to correct for the higher stock ride height. My commute is over 200 miles per day at 70mph+ and it a noticeable difference. Find the thread “Adding Co Pilot Assist 2.0” and start reading from the beginning. It’s all there and easier than you may think.

Can you provide a link to that thread? This forum's search capabilities leave a lot to be desired.

Thanks.

No I didn’t guess I got lucky that it worked!
Stumbled across this while comparing APIM part numbers.

From How to Decode Ford Part Numbers – Blue Oval Trucks

"Therefore, the part numbers on the part are generally Engineering numbers while the Service part number will be on the box. There are some exceptions, such as a whole grouping of parts or a kit. Engineering and Service numbers decode the same way. The difference being the fourth character of the prefix."

Could this be the reason why the part number on the part differs from the one on the box?

It would work but If you put a 21MY APIM in a 22MY truck, you will not get OTA updates.
Best to stick to a 22MY APIM. Very hard to find but it's worth the search to not have to deal with forcing an update all the time.
@riderryan92,

So taking your advice, I ordered and received my alledged APIM w/NAV today. It's for a MY23. My parts guy in Detroit could not locate a MY22.

Can you take a look at these photos and compare it to your APIM to verify it's a Sync 4 w/nav module? It should work, right?

Also, the part came attached to a bracket with another module mounted on it. I'm not sure what this is or what it's for. Do you know if it needs to be installed along with the APIM?

APIM mounted on bracket.

It is another it those obscure ford hard to locate, define, look up, or even name parts, with an orphan number.

I think it might be a GATEWAY CONTROL MODULE or communication GATEWAY CONTROL MODULE?

https://www.ebay.com/itm/195513999047

Some one lists it as a pedestrian alerts module?

https://www.ebay.com/itm/295068394733

Can not find it in the catalog via that or any other number.

As far as installing it I would probably just keep yours. They probably were only supposed to send the APIM, just a case of the puller not knowing their parts.
