So I got my SiriusXM installed today. I had a few issues, broke the damn latch on the coat hanger. That bitch would not pop down for anything. I’ll be spending $12 for a new one. Also for pulling the C pillar watch the top clip, either I broke mine or it was already broke. I’m leaning toward the already broke as it pulled out way to easy and the plastic was really stressed, white in that spot. There is a plastic wire like connector that is tied to the C pillar molding. Can’t decide but I’m sure I’ll replace that as well. The antenna installed easy. Hope I have it tightened just right as I tested with water. I watched a video before installing so I didn’t clamp it down to hard. Works great no cutting out, drove through the country to test. As for the blue wire I did what XLT22 did and taped it above the headline. Worked fine in the Fordpass app. I’ve ordered an SSD enclosure as I’m going to install the chip in there. I prefer to have it in something permanently instead of just sitting up there..but that’s just my preference.
Can you post the antenna installation video you watched? Thanks.

I went back and re-read this entire thread from the beginning for the 4th time. I found this on post #52. Is this the one you're talking about? He he doesn't remove the floor console or the seats.
I'm guessing that's the APIM below the screen, out of the camera shot?

2021 Ford F-150 Radio Dash Removal Tutorial - YouTube

Very good instructional video.
Yes !

He does a very good job explaining how to remove the trim. I more or less posted the ford instructions to supplement that video.. I should have put them In the same post.

If xlt22 has the time it might be good to put both in post#1

<I'm posting this to help those who may be considering re-adding the Satellite Radio back into their "cnnctd nav/SiriusXM removal" 2022 F-150. Here's my story. I tried to keep opinions to a minimum. I hope this helps>

_____

Okay guys, so I got my 19A390 RH antenna from Ford parts the other day and installed it on my truck. I plugged the curry-colored plug into the connector on the wiring harness and used a Fakra cable to connect the plug behind the glovebox to the plug in the back of the ACM. I even dissassembled the old RH satellite antenna and removed the circuit board with the blue-colored connector and Gorilla Taped (tm) it to the metal roof above the head liner. The installation went well and the trim pieces snapped back into place without too much effort. Exept I broke off the top metal clip on the C pillar trim panel. But, Gorilla Tape(tm) took care of that, too, lol.

After all that, I get the message "No satellite signal. Attempting to connect...".

When I ordered the antenna from Ford Parts, I thought I ordered the RH antenna WITH Satellite radio. And, when I received the antenna I inspected it and found it had the curry-colored connector which should be confirmation that it is the correct RH antenna, right? Boy, I am sadly mistaken.

When searching for the part on Ford Parts, I typed 19A390 as the base part number. Several antennas came up, so I ordered the first one in the list. When I received the part, the sticker on the outside of the box had 19A390 as the base part number, and a -G as the suffix. After examining the part itself, the base part number is 19K351. I didn't think much of it because it had the curry-colored connector and the maroon connector just like what the above forum posters describe in their instructions. WRONG!

So after the antenna didn't work, I started doing more investigation. I called Ford Parts and explained that the part number of the part inside the box did not match the part number on the sticker on the outside of the box. The CSR was very helpful and could not explain why, and opened a support ticket for my issue.

I went back to the Ford Parts website and verified that I ordered the correct part, 19A390. However, the order now displayed the G suffix (this was not displayed when searching for the part on the Ford Parts website). I went back and searched for the part again and selected the second one in the list, placed it in my cart and ordered it. Once the order was placed, the F suffix appeared in the part number. So far, so good.

I'm hoping this solves the incorrect RH antenna issue (w/o Satellite Radio & w/Satellite Radio). However, this still does not explain why a different base part number is on the physical part, 19K351. I guess I'll find out when I receive the part next Monday or Tuesday.

So, the lesson learned here is that there is no rhyme or reason to Ford's part number numbering scheme and the best option is trial & error until you get the right part. After speaking to the CSR at Ford Parts and my local Ford Dealer parts department, I can only conclude Ford doesn't know, either. The CSR at Ford Parts opened a support ticket so I can return the incorrectly ordered part, but I think they are going to give me the same BS most BSFUC's do. I'm probably out the $$$.

Here's a pictoral representation of my trial and tribulation.... Enjoy.. :)

Re-examined connections. I then noticed the sticker shows a different base part number than what is on the box it came in.

NOTE: The blue connector is from the dissassambled antenna with the circuit board taped to the roof.

Ford F-150 MY22 Adding SiriusXM 1677283088347

Went back and verified the correct part number was ordered, 19A390. Didn't pay attention to the G suffix until now.

Ford F-150 MY22 Adding SiriusXM 1677283163558

Searched again for the same part, and selected the second one in the list. Placed the order and now it shows the the F suffix and a higher price, grrr.

Fingers crossed it wil be the correct antenna (with Satellite radio).

This still does not explain the 19K351 base part numer on the actual part itself. I guess we'll have to see.

I'll post back here with the continuation of this saga. Stay tuned...

I am doing this from memory so …. You installed a test antenna if I remember right and had reception Correct?

If so weird you would think it would not matter that much? It has the proper connections after alll and you checked them.

Up front did you use the ford splitter or just a FAKRA cable?

Only thing I can think of is wrong antenna as you said or something has a failure antenna or cable.

If you have a meter you could check each cable section for resistance if the second antenna does not work out.

Was your C pillar white colored around the clip? I swear mine was damaged before I pulled it out. It pulled back way to easy so I think mine was jammed in during the original install.

The description for that antenna is pretty clear, but the Ford Parts website can be a bit confusing. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a combination like that on the lot with nav and missing satellite radio.

Ya was going to say, the Fordparts website is kinda janky and not very intuitive, detailed, or even user friendly most times. You get your parts quick, but that's about it. You have to be careful which model you have selected, where you're looking, and also if you have a VIN selected or not, all can make a difference. Since they don't give you the full part number until after you order, I usually use the price to double check other places and make sure it matches up to what I'm after.

Definitely use a donor VIN for the Ford Parts site if you need something your truck originally didn't have. I used a 2022 Lariat for my adaptive cruise parts and a 4x4 VIN for the longer lower air dam to put on my 2wd truck after leveling to get back a bit of fuel economy. Works like a charm.

"I am doing this from memory so …. You installed a test antenna if I remember right and had reception Correct?" Yes, I installed a test antenna last week and have been listening to SiriusXM in this temporary configuration. I even went and bought a brand new aftermarket antenna from Best Buy just to make sure I didn't damage the ACM while installing the permanent antenna.

"Up front did you use the ford splitter or just a FAKRA cable?" When the splitter cable did not work, I purchased a straight through cable with Fakra connectors.

"Only thing I can think of is wrong antenna as you said or something has a failure antenna or cable" I called Ford Parts to report that I may have received a bad part. That's when I noticed the different suffix of the part number and ordered the other antenna. It's scheduled for delivery Monday. If that doesn't work, I may try plugging in the temporary antenna at the rear C pillar connection as a test of cable continuity. I don't have a meter. :-( If the new antenna doesn't work, you won't hear from me as I will have checked-in to a mental hospital because I lost my mind. LOL.

Here is the antenna I ordered and installed.

That's the same one I thought I ordered as well. Did you check the actual part to see if it has the same part number as the box?

I don't know. When I pulled the trim panel from the sheet metal, the clip remained inside the hole. There was a metal clip inside a plastic housing and a plastic tether attached to the metal. I had to use brute force to get the plastic and metal clip out of the hole in the sheet metal. And, I damaged the entire fastener assembly. I wound a bunch of tape around the assembly and forced it back into the sheet metal hole. It will probably need to be done again when I remove the trim panel to remove/install the RH antenna.... again. Ugh.
