I have an order that was put in Friday and they have deleted the following: Start/ stop, Advanced Security Pack, CHMSL Camera Removal, Active Park Assist, Multicontour Seat, Heating Steering Wheel.

I like my vehicles loaded and would be coming out of an Denali and don't want to go backwards on features, so for me, I'm holding off and told them exactly why.

The other issue is the credits are pathetic as all of these deletes reduced the cost of my truck by $1,030 but to me, I would expect at least a $5K discount for these deletes.

Nicely loaded trucks don't cost $55K any longer. If they did the deletes would be acceptable, but I'm not paying $80K for a truck that doesn't have a heated steering wheel for gosh sakes.

Suspecting that with falling orders and sales that the options will be added back in pretty soon.
I was in the process of ordering a '23 Platinum when I signed up here but the deletes got rid of that notion so I just closed on a lightly used '21 Limited with all the fancy switches to keep me entertained for years.

Now I need to figure out how to change the vehicle listed in my profile.

Just got my window sticker this morning, 502A with a blend date of Feb 19. No heated steering wheel removal is listed, I guess they are coming back?

This seems to affect higher trim trucks the most. The highest level I've ever gotten was 302a. My 23 (order) is missing start/stop; which I don't care about. It's also heated steering wheel delete. THAT's upsetting because I was looking forward to it. But, I've added before so I can add it again.

Multi-contour seats have been missing for roughly 2 years. Maybe not in the F150, specifically, but I've seen a few 60k Explorers that don't have them and should.

I don't see Ford adding deleted items once they're deleted. They don't have to. They haven't really offered rebates in the last 3 years, they've removed items, and they've increased the pricing. Yet, they're STILL the best selling VEHICLE and have been the best selling trucks for like 45 years. I don't see any incentive for them to do more if we aren't requiring it. I mean, you can hire 100 call center reps at 35k a year and spend just under 5mill in salary and benefits. They can handle the influx in complaints. Even if they give out something here and there, it doesn't clear 5mil. You take 1 $20 item off a truck and still sell 800,000 of them, that clears you roughly 16mil. 2% margin of error, and reasonable loss, you're still grossing 10mill-sh in revenue. And that's just rough quick numbers. We all know these options save more than 20 bux per truck and that didn't even account for the steady price increase.

I say all that to say, from a dollars and sense perspective, their product still outshines other manufacturers and their profit margins have yet to cause a change.
I'm holding off on ordering until 2024 for the mid cycle refresh as well as these to be added back. We'll see if they can get it right. There's a decent supply of F150s on dealer lots at the moment.

I’ve often wondered if they have been able to reengineer these things to use more readily available components. I’m not optimistic about the refresh though, not based on the grille embedded in the headlights look found on the expedition and SD

Ford tends to be conservative with their refreshes so I don't view it as a significant departure.

However, what will be significant, in my opinion, is the potential for an improvement in quality now that quality is job #1 at Ford allegedly. That's worth waiting for the refresh.

Both the SD and expedition grille/headlamp changes were refreshes

That would be welcome news if deleted features are being added back.
Could you please give us a definitive list of deleted features from your build? Is the bed camera and security pack back?

My blend date was Feb 14. I'll be pissed if I missed the return of the heated steering wheel by 5 days. Truck hasn't shipped yet though so who knows what's going on.

Here is my build sheet from 3/21/23. I don't think the heated steering is back...

There’s been plenty of media coverage about Auto Start/Stop coming back in the past couple days. If heated wheels were coming back, I’d think we’d hear about it. Plus they recently announced heated wheel deletion for Lightnings. I think this theory is debunked. And the poster who displayed a portion of his window sticker and claimed no deletion hasn’t been heard from on this thread since…

I’m close to giving up on the 2023s reinstating at least enough features that they’re equal to the 2022s. No hope of them being as fully loaded as the 2021s. What a backward world we live in where the newer the truck the fewer the features.

Has anyone tried to add the front camera washer on a '23 yet? Would imagine there is not much to install it. Didn't think it would be that big of a problem not having the washer until I was in wet snow that covered my front camera. Would be nice to be able to use the front camera as intended.
Great question! The 23s seem to be shipping with a front emblem that does not have the provision for the front camera washer. My front emblem got scratched in shipping and was replaced prior to me picking it up. The replacement emblem has the little square provision for the washer in it, but it does not function. I wonder if I could hook up a washer hose to it and it would function?

Here are the deleted items from my XLT order placed on 3/17/23:
  • Heated Steering Wheel
  • Center High-Mounted Stop Lamp Camera
  • Multi-Contour seats with Active Motion
  • Auto Start/Stop
Disappointed about all of these deletes, except for the auto start-stop which hopefully will stay removed (since I was assigned a VIN before the 3/24 date after which others reported that it will be added back).

Interesting. XLT’s don’t have Active Motion seats, so not sure why that is listed? Unless I’m mistaken.
