That is not possible with the LED reflector headlamps, which is what the 302A hasI’m asking if anybody tried to enable the glare free on a 302A with stock headlamps.

Oh, so an upgrade to LED Projector is required, as you did on your 501A.That is not possible with the LED reflector headlamps, which is what the 302A has
Yes, unfortunately. Not to say that I regret it, it’s just not cheap lolOh, so an upgrade to LED Projector is required, as you did on your 501A.
Thanks
I see that the projectors and the harness only are 1800-1900, plus HCM plus the height sensorsYes, unfortunately. Not to say that I regret it, it’s just not cheap lol
@Snakebitten are you saying that we can get quad LEDs on XLT from factory? I thought that quad are the projection while the reflector one are Bi-led.After driving F150's with halogen lights for a few years, you XLT guys with the Quad LED headlights should be tickled to death. They are FAR superior to anything Ford has ever offered on their trucks, in my opinion.
You can SEE at least.
Ironically they just waited until they also equipped the higher trims with some World Class headlight technology.
Both were a long time coming.
While I love the glare-free headlights, I’m not sure that I would be willing to pay that much to swap out the setup to get them.I see that the projectors and the harness only are 1800-1900, plus HCM plus the height sensors. I think the reflectors should fine, I don’t drive too much on rural roads to fully take advantage of them.
Yea I would say the quad beam LED is better than the previous gen top trim headlamps. I don’t think the light output of the projector headlamps is any better than the quad beam, BUT obviously the functionality is far superiorAfter driving F150's with halogen lights for a few years, you XLT guys with the Quad LED headlights should be tickled to death. The rational side of me says that the $2k isn’t worth the money for the upgrade (post purchase anyways) but the bougie nerd in me would’ve paid even more than I did. While I love the glare-free headlights, I’m not sure that I would be willing to pay that much to swap out the setup to get them.
It’s absolutely a cool feature that can be enabled for free if you already have the right headlights, but probably not cool enough to spend thousands of dollars on (in my opinion).
? Given that you are trying to upgrade all of your systems to become 502a truck, I still think that this “counts” as a free upgrade for you, since you were already going to replace the headlights anyway. For others who might only be doing this upgrade, I would say that it might not be worth it (as cool as it is).The rational side of me says that the $2k isn’t worth the money for the upgrade (post purchase anyways) but the bougie nerd in me would’ve paid even more than I did.
I imagine I could make 1/3 to 1/2 of my money back by selling my factory headlamps as well…. Well maybe I could, not really sure.? You could always keep going beyond just the 502a level and install active steering too. Keep going until you have a Limited or Platinum. ?I imagine I could make 1/3 to 1/2 of my money back by selling my factory headlamps as well…. Well maybe I could, not really sure.
Speaking of which, I have the CORRECT level sensors and I plan to install those this weekend or next week.
Only thing after that is going to be a powered steering column. I cannot find a powered steering column w/o active steering for under $500, but I’ve found 2 powered steering columns with active steering for $400 and $300 ??
Eh. I’ve considered it, but I don’t care about the massaging seats, blue cruise, or APA. If I can find a good price on some used powered running boards I’m gonna do that, but new it’s about $3600 in parts, not including any wiring or laborYou could always keep going beyond just the 502a level and install active steering too. Forgive my inaccurate terminology, but I was referencing the "quad" as the headlight with 4 separate outputs per side.@Snakebitten are you saying that we can get quad LEDs on XLT from factory? I thought that quad are the projection while the reflector one are Bi-led.
Fully agree. I added LED bulbs on my 2013 and it made a huge difference, looking forward to the XLT to arrive, even if I can’t enable glare free.Forgive my inaccurate terminology, but I was referencing the "quad" as the headlight with 4 separate outputs per side.
Those are amazing headlights compared to anything Ford has ever offered in an XLT.
Previously you could doll up your XLT to every option offered, and yet lighting up the highway at night was a mundane affair.
Although a brand new XLT 302A is frighteningly more expensive than the sweet-spot it was in the past, it's arguably a better equipped truck than the previous Lariat, sans leather of course.![]()
