Ah yes the finer things…lol!

Any guidance on running the cables from the console to the lights under the seats? Glanced at it yesterday and there appeared to a cable coming out on the passenger I assume I can follow but didn’t see anything on the driver side. Just trying to plan things a little before the parts show up.

i did the slide the console back method and installed the cup holder and such like normal. Then I moved the seats all the way forward and up, flipped up the back seats so I can lay back there, lifted the back of the console up and set it on a small box to keep it in the air. Then fished the wires from the hole in the carpet under the console to the wiring hole under each seat. Of course, you need to run it so that it will not get pinched or cut when the seat moves around and tie wrap it all up. I suggest plugging in the y harness from the cup holder from the top and feeding it down to where you can grab it once you lift the console up. Makesure the connection is good and tight cause I don’t think you’ll be able to see it from the top once it’s all tied up under the seats and in place.

please PM me for harness info, as for parts, the cup holder runs about 30 dollars, im sure the floor lights run about the same.

Thanks for the write-up! This is great! I rode in a Lariat the other day and it had the ambient lighting in the footwells and doors, got to say, I liked the look. Are the ambient lights dimmable?

Also, where is the plug under the driver's seat located for driver's rear passenger seat the ambient light? Seems like my truck has 3 out of the 4 footwell light plugs.

Here's my truck's configuration:
1. Driver's front seat footwell - found
2. Passenger's front seat footwell - found
3. Rear passenger's seat footwell (under passenger seat) - found
4. Rear driver's seat footwell (under driver's seat) - missing...?

The under seat lights is weird, i dont think anyone has found all 4 yet. as for activating them, youd have to install wiring in the seat connector most likely. The easiest way is add it onto the cup hodler harness.

So my harness should be here Thursday and my Ford parts tomorrow but I’m not betting on that one. Thoughts on installing these lights without having Forscan yet? I assume I’ll have access to the plugs if I have to troubleshoot…most of this seems straightforward. The cup holder connection section is the only part I’m a little unclear on with the connectors.

without forscan you wont know if they are working or not. you have to have forscan to turn them on. the cup holder is super easy? what part is confusing about it? drop the felt liner down you already have the plug from the factory, plug the T end of my cup holder harness into that and plug your factory ambient light into the other side and route it. youll have to install the wire from the BCM to the C212 connector also.

Ah I was thinking I had to disconnect something and with your harness tap in. I didn’t realize the factory plug was already there and that’s what it was plugging into. I’m a visual man…lol..I assumed it would have made sense once I got it apart.

yes you can install everything, then when you have forscan turn them on.

I just wanna throw this out there for everyone new coming to this thread. If im slow or late replying I promise im not ignoring you guys. I work 3rd shift so my schedule is weird. I only ship on my off days. I dont have the free time between sleep/work to print labels and package stuff up.

yes, they are dimmable through the setting on your screen.
pretty positive the plug under the passenger seat it dead and will remain dead even after adding the wire between the bcm and c212. The upper half of the harness for c212 only runs through the dash. In trucks that have all the ambient lighting from the factory the wire going from pin on the bcm is spliced into the floor harness before going up to c212

Props to you man! I tried seeing if I could route under the carpet but it just didn’t seem like an option with all the dips and hills. Ended up just coming under the console as there are some decent gaps so the wire was not pinched.

I used one of these.

and fed it from under the seat until it popped out the middle and grabbed ahold of the connector with the claw and then carefully fed it through.
the way you did it will work great to as long as the seat track doesn’t catch it.
