This should be my final day of F150 Platinum 4X4 Powerboost ownership. The new GMC refresh is the winner for me. I've had a number of GM performance cars over the years but never a GM truck. That's fixing to change tomorrow if the weather cooperates and the tonneau cover arrives and gets installed. Not much for pictures at this point. The GMC arrived Monday. I stopped yesterday to finalize the dollars I need to write a check for and give it a quick once over.
The Ultimate interior blows me away. I went Ultimate to get the Alpine Umber interior which reminds me of the 2016 King Ranch that I had. Very little plastic. This will be the first time I haven't had some sort of Ford product in the garage and that covers over 55 years of driving. The front end of the GMC makes the F150 look small. I was surprised with them parked next to each other yesterday.
The biggest downside? Forums. The GM truck forums are lame compared to the Ford and Ram forums.
Anyway, this is about it for the F150. Here's a couple pics. And no it's not ready for delivery. This is how it came off the semi.

The best of luck with that GMC. That probably would have been my second choice but GMC needs to add a hybrid powerboost option for the kill.

Don't be a stranger and come back and let us know your experience with that gorgeous Denali!

PS: Post some interior pics too! :)

The lack of hybrid was a plus for me. I've had my share issues with mine. Had to replace the entire drive unit last year after 3 or 4 months of it not starting (all kinds of warnings flashing on the IP) and then after 3-6 hours it would "fix* itself.....temporarily. When I bought mine, no one knew there was no easy house electrical backup. Everyone figured it was an easy back feed. We know that's not the case now. I'm putting a Generac system in to solve power outage issues.

Here's some GM stock photos. The truck comes with 3 years of connected service which includes 3 years of Super Cruise. Also has a 15" wide HUD.

Also, has no deleted chip related options. The knobs show temps, 15 view camera option, wireless charger. It's all there.

I heavily considered getting a Sierra when ordering my 2023 F150. Prior to the updated interior, it wasn't even an option. But, with the updates, it is a really good looking truck. What kept me with Ford was the EcoBoost (really like towing with it) and the fact I wasn't able to find a dealer that would do a deal like Granger does.

I havent had a chance to drive the 6.2L, but I hated driving with the 5.3L. Felt like I had to floor it to get it to move. I probably would have ended up with the diesel if I went with a GMC.

Congrats on the new truck.

Good luck and enjoy!!! I sat in a loaded one yesterday and the seats are like sitting on plywood. I like the new screen and feel supercruise and HUD are winners. Not sure why Ford is only putting HUD in 24 Super Duty. But I drive too much and can't get past the seats.

Interesting seeing them side by side like that. Looks like the roofs are the same height but the GM has a higher hood

The higher hood makes it harder to see out front, noticed that right away on a test drive of the Denali and AT4. You really appreciate the rake and sloped hood on the f150 after driving the Sierra 1500 :)

If you do long drives you'll appreciate the GM seats with MUCH better upper back/shoulder support.

Looks good. Not a chrome fan personally. Whatever ends up making you happy!

Is GM deleting things like Ford? Not sure how they can continue at this rate, especially on higher trims.

Lack of a hybrid with 7.2 kW generator was a deal breaker for me. Exterior looks are good though.

Congrats! My dad has a 2022 Ultimate in Titanium Rush with the DuraMax. It's a beautiful truck, but unfortunately GM sequestered the Super Cruise on his. All trucks have pros and cons, but you'll definitely enjoy the Sierra. Good luck with it!

I like the new Sierra's. GM finally made the right call and updated that terrible interior. If it wasn't for having no new Sierra's to test drive and local dealers up charging around me, there's a good chance I would have pulled the trigger on that and not my F150. I'm happy with my current truck and hope your Sierra treats you right. Hopefully the new GM interiors will help push Ford to putting less cheap material in higher trims.

I've been considering diesel options - a la a newer/new Ram 2500 with the 6.7, or going to the AT4x 6.2 since I don't really need a diesel. GMC is really doing it for me as far as looks go. I love my F150, but it's not without it's weird quirks, not of which are enough on their own to warrant any change, but it is more a sum of all the parts type of issues. Additionally, I find myself struggling to get comfortable in my driver's seat rather often, and long drives (longest so far was 7 hours) were a bit taxing on my neck and back, although Blue Cruise made it more bearable. I don't know where I can find a good deal on a new AT4x, but if I do find one I might go that route in the future.
I don't tow, but if I do I'd be plenty happy with the 3.5 EB that I have. It is nice to have in general, although I find my real world mpgs to be little desired for, vs what I had expected..
Best of luck in the new ride. I am looking forward to hearing more about it as you get settled in.
