I posted regarding the Front Sensor System when ordering my truck:

"I have a 2023 KR 4x2 145WB Powerboost on order. The Forward Sensing System was very selectively available 2021, but I ‘thought’ returned with 360 Assist for 2022.
FSS is only in the 360 Active for 2023. Active only includes hands free Blue Cruise and FSS, Park Assist is not available."

The 2023 Order Guide (as posted) still does not include the FSS on the King Ranch; a quick review shows FSS on XLT with 360 Assist option and included with the Lariat 501a.

I picked up my truck (which I love) at the end of December. When I pulled into my garage, the front sensors and camera fired up. Reminder, My order guide specifically excluded the FSS with 360 Assist (but did include with 360 Active which I did not get). I am happy to have the added FSS.

The reason for the post is not for me, but to possibly help (or confuse) people ordering 2023 trucks.
Does anyone know the rhyme or reason for when the Front Sensor System is included?
Has anyone else gotten FSS when their order guide said that it was not included?
What models include the FSS?

Just raising questions for those shopping for a truck.

I am not sure of the thread, but someone else also got the FSS when per the order guide they should not have. When I ordered my truck that was a "small" part I totally forgot. I was literally going to have the dealer add Active to get Bluecruise and also the FSS. But at the last minute the truck was already getting ready to be built or something rather, so I couldn't.

Fast forward and I have since bought the sensors and the harness to add to my 502A. Now it's a 50/50 if I wasted money, as you are another user who has gotten FSS when the guide mentioned it doesn't. Super ass backwards though when you think about it. Lower trim you get it, the higher trim, they make you add additional stuff you don't want in order to get FSS.

Subscribing as I've seem some guys post pics of their 23MY truck after picking it up that had front sensors when I did not expect to see them. Hoping I'm one of the lucky ones who gets them!

I also was surprised that I got the FSS on my 2023 502A lariat with Assist, my understanding was that you need Active. I was also surprised to get black mirror caps with my tow mirrors, thought they'd be chrome. Happy with both options.

PS: Canadian order so things are different, for example bed utility is standard here.

Copilot 360 includes all of these as far as I'm aware (BLISS, LKA, Anti collision). For 23 ford included more 'base' options now, some of which is codified like backup cams have been for a while. Copilot 360 includes 5 radars, 8 ultrasonic sensors, and 2 cameras (road watching one not accessible to drivers, other is backup by law), and is on every model except lower trim XL...

I've got this on my XLT high and my MME has bluecruise which is all of this, but includes the eye watching IR sensor deals. Personally the 'full' bluecruise isn't worth the $ IMO.

It's no smarter than the copilot system, and simply resting your leg against the wheel to create drag, or resting hand on the bottom of the wheel both serve to keep the system happy unless it's a straightaway (stupid) --- which requires you to torque the wheel a bit. They really need to patch that out already.

Yes, the above is the base CoPilot 360 which is on all models. Then there is the Assist and the Active. Confusing with all three including the CoPilot 360 2.0 name.
It does not include the forward sensing system (FSS) with the front bumper sensors. I think the forward collision system uses the larger central ultrasound.
I have read about people installing the sensors after purchase like Braeden is prepared for.

I believe it's the 360 cams that include the front sensors which activate the cameras. Both my F150 and MME do the same thing with camera object activation / warning. No special copilot package which would be listed on an XLT's sticker. The only difference between the F150 and the MME is the auto park (removed from newer MME) and hands free on interstates and other mapped roads (F150 hands free when resting on the wheel in some fashion, knee works great).

XL w/ out radar cruise is a different machine I'd personally avoid.

I just checked, and if you added the 2kw pro power it adds the 360 cam on the lariat. so maybe that is what they have that is adding it.

With luck I will know within a month or so.

I added 360 cameras to my Lariat 502a build. Really hoping I have the front sensors!

Still confused.
Looking at pictures, I see various F150’s with 6 button sensors in the front and rear bumpers, 4 across the body of the bumper 1 on each of the outside aspects.
I have 4 sensors across the body of the bumps only. The outer sensors are not flush, but angled out.
360 Assist vs Active?

i'm confused too, I've the 2023 XLT 302A package, but i don't see any sensor on the front bumper, however, my window sticker shows i have the pre-collision assist. So do I have the front sensor system?

Someone with better knowledge might have a better answer- but, I think the pre-collision assist uses a separate, larger central ultrasound sensor and not the bumper button sensors.
You should have 4 or 6 sensors on the rear bumper- I am pretty sure the rear sensor system is on all models.
If you have a FSS, the front camera and sensor sound should come up when you approach something.

That does seem to help figure this out a bit if you spec'd 360 cams but absolutely not Assist 2.0.

It still seems weird that KRs get a version of Assist 2.0 that doesn't get 360 cams, when it's required for every other place where its optional.

360 Assist vs Active?
6 = Active
4 = Assist

The 6 were there from the removed Active Park Assist. Nobody's sure why they stick around.

Pre-collision uses the upper camera, same for the base XL.

I believe there's several levels of pre-collision assist and not just the upper camera. Perhaps the front radars give it better fidelity. I'd really love to see ford put out more information just exactly how all of the radars are used. There's a few blind intersections around here where being able to have the front side radars alert to oncoming traffic would be very beneficial. oncoming traffic in the closest lane of travel isn't visible but for ~40ft or so and the safest manner to get out is just hammer down.

I agree. A better way to put it might be that it only needs or at minimum needs.

This would still be limited by the radar range being about that distance too, though, wouldn't it? The front BLIS sensors the BC trucks have are like the rears, and those max out at 33 ft for trailer coverage.
