I’ve also read that people who ordered a 2022 last year are still getting the 0 percent they locked in. The fine print on the apr deal I ordered with did not have a take delivery date. Guess we shall see.
We can only hope they do the right thing.

I was also told about the lock in, but I called Ford and there is a take delivery by date. Of course Ford says to talk with the dealer and see if we can somehow get the paper work in before the 3rd of Jan. I'm not sure if I like the idea of paying 70 grand for a truck I haven't seen yet. I would think they would have to honor the incentives, as I have zero control on their shipping stuff. Guess time will tell, I actually just called Ford again, and they said it's still waiting, but could be at the dealer by the 29th. Yea, and I'm sure the dealer will work over the holiday weekend to make sure it's ready for me to catch a bus to Granger. Miracles have and do happen, so we will see.

That sounds odd and is completely different from my experience. I ordered my '22 in November of '21 and didn't take delivery until June of '22. I had the choice of all incentives available at either the time of order, or the time of purchase. There had still been 0% financing at the time I ordered and it was honored. The only thing I missed out on was a PCO that expired while I was waiting for delivery. I believe the dealers have to enter the codes for things like incentives and PCO's into Smart Vincent to see it they are valid and whatever the system tells them is pretty much the final answer as far as money that's reimbursed by Ford. I suppose things could have changed in the last 7 months.

Could there be a requirement that you need to take delivery no later than the end of the model year that you ordered? If so, it was never mentioned to me when I ordered.

I really don't know, this is the first time I've even known we can order a vehicle. I can only wait and see. My interest is expected to be 2.9% for 60 months, and I'll have it paid off in less than a year. If if my interest were 5%, it's probably 20 a month more, but just the point. Hopefully tomorrow I'll hear from Granger finance and I can get some straight answers. My contact there went on vacation right after she said I should contact ford and then she'd recheck the Smart Vincent and see what it says this week.

I just went through financing with Ford with the truck I ordered on 1/28/2022. I am picking it up at Granger on 12/28. I was offered the 2 options (new and order date) and both included 0% for a term.

One was 0% up to 60 months with no incentives. (I believe this was the new offer).

The second option was 0% for 36 months, 0.9 for 48 months, or 1.9 for 60 months all along with the $2000 incentives that was offered when I ordered. I took this 0% and financed 30k for 36 months with the $2000 incentives.

With that said I may have been offered a good deal on the credit due to my credit score over 800. I was going to pay cash for the whole thing but since they offered 0%, I jumped on that.

I wish 0% rates were still a thing. I got mine a few weeks ago at 2.9%/60mo (which now appears to be gone as well). It beat any bank or CU I looked at, so I financed through Ford. I'll pay it off way before then though.

You and me both. I currently have the 3.9% locked rate from my October order which is still as good, if not better than most.

FWIW I was able to find a deal earlier this month but had to drive 350 miles to the dealership. They can be found if you're willing to spend the time hunting. I got a 2022 STX that MSRP'd at $46,900 for $38,900 plus 1.9% apr for 60mos. My discount also included a $2k PCO from Ford. Best of luck to everyone out there.

I've noticed some local dealers offering financing (from themselves, not Ford) 0% for 48 or 60 months for 2022 models as an end of the year push.

Pricing is pretty much as the whim of the dealer. I paid $5,000 over MSRP and the dealer profit was likely $15,000 on the sale. Pickups are by far the most profitable vehicles sold by dealers.

There is an unlevel playing field and there are several things that can minimize the disadvantages of the buyer. One is to keep it a cash deal without a trade-in vehicle. The other is to look for trucks that have been sitting on a dealer's lot for a long period of time. Dealers paying a flooring fee to the finance company and after the 1st of the month they are charged for a full month even if the truck is sold in the first week of the following month. For this reason a truck they can sell the last few days of a month is worth more to then than a truck sale in the first two weeks of the month.

Dealers new inventory shipments are based on their volume in a prior period and so a truck sold in 2022 will probably help their 2023 allocations which is critical to a dealer's profit. I would start at dealer invoice and realize that with the various "rebates' the dealer is not paying more than the invoiced amount less $5,000 on most pickups. If it was me I would offer $1,000 over dealer invoice and know they are making a very good profit at this number.

They will want to offer financing or charge for "paint sealer", underbody "sealer", and VIN etching on the windows and other things that you will want to decline after you have their initial price quote.

It helps to go to the dealer 2 hours before closing. This puts more time pressure on them to seal the deal before they close down. Also a good idea to insist on dealing face to face with the decision maker at that time which may be the finance person or the sales manager or the GM. Otherwise the sales person is relaying information and this is a stall tactic (which is also why goind in 2 hours before closing helps with your negotiating.) If you have a spouse they should go as well and be the "wet blanket" during the negotiating. They can mention that is very expensive and the Ram rode better and so forth.

Good luck
GEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZE man. Please don't tell me that you do this to another human being simply to buy an item. Other than these being horrible tactics that would not work in any established business, it's just bad to do to someone. And most of this info is not accurate. You're correct on floor plan existing but the calculated amounts vary by company. Ultimately, there's 0 reason for any sales manager/salesperson/gm/dealership to hold on to a vehicle outside of factory no-sell recalls. End of the month pushes are normally more for sales goals (individually) than anything else. But, I digress...

In the interest of staying on topic, you SHOULD have price protection in buying. I know this is day 0 for you, but I don't see the big deal in signing for a brand new vehicle, sight-unseen. It's brand new. You ordered it. You know what it is. If that's what you have to do to lock it in, what could possibly go wrong that the dealer wouldn't make good on.

And, I say that with the caveat of, if you don't trust your dealership/salesperson, why do business with them? Hopefully it all works out. Shoot us the update please. I'd love to hear what happened.

Nobody ever died from asking for X-plan? :)

All they can say is no if they aren't willing.
You do have to be eligible for X-plan as well, and prove it to the dealer.

I haven't a clue why I was eligible, nor did I offer any proof other than being a customer for more than 2 decades.
So I assume the dealership made the decision on my behalf?

OH, I was eligible due to my job so I assumed that was the only way you were eligible for x-plan.

I guess there is more to it than I thought.
