Yea don’t take what I said as a personal attack on yourself or anyone. Like I said, I’d be pretty frustrated too. It’s when people let it consume them and they make it into a bigger deal than it actually is that I just facepalm and shake my head.

Agreed. The biggest deal for me right now is my truck doesn't take longer to ship than my page 225 prediction. But what if it comes early? Nah, that won't happen!

Yes that’s 20% ceramic tint. I live in Colorado with super strong sun year round, it helps a ton plus looks so good. I love white too. My 2017 was white as well with the sport package. The front bumper didn’t have PPF and looked like shot gun pellets peppered it.

Sharp truck!! The ceramic tint saves our hides here. I think the sun sits on our hood all day baking the interior of our cars (I really think it's less particulates in the air this far up). I'm having the front windshield ceramic "filmed" this time. I don't know if it's tint or PPF, but that and no sun roof should keep mine cool outside in the summer.

Happy new year everybody! Hope it’s going to be good! Just left my buddies house that had a 70 year old cypress tree that decided during the storm that It didn’t want to stand anymore. So me waiting for my truck wasn’t such a big deal compared to what he now needs to go through. Everyone was ok but house not so much

AMMO NYC on YouTube had a video about his new Porsche and he put a film on his windshield that is thick enough to repel the rock chips and cracks that plague us. That's where I got the idea from. I think it's some sort of PPF and I think you can get it tinted or untinted. I've tracked down a couple of guys that do it here in the Springs. I'm going to see one of them day 2.

You can get “ppf” for your windshield that can prevent it… I am not sure what a windshield costs in the US in Canada for my lariat it was $900 the windshield ppf was about 400 and lasts about 2 years

How hot does it get there? I mean we get pretty hot here. I guess I just didn’t think it got that hot there. Are heat is really dry so it’s not that bad. Then again I have got use to it

It does get hot sometimes in the summer, like high 80's - low 90's for a few days. I live in the high desert (at least that's what I call it) and it is dry as a bone except for April when it snows and August when it rains. Ambient temperature isn't the problem, It's really the UV rays that gets us. I live at 6700 feet and the tremendously clear sky really lets the UVs go to work. One must have protection.

Please report back how it goes. I wonder how the PPF does when cold and wet plus cleaning it with washer fluid etc. good idea for sure.

We picked up our F150 from Granger on Friday a little after @SunnyD must have been there. The transaction with Granger was excellent. The drive back was long, but the truck was great. My stupid iPhone needlessly routed us through 10 miles of dirt (mud) road near our home, which is why it is a little muddy.

The last time I owned an F150 was almost 40 years ago and a gift from my grandfather. I had it for a few years before moving on to something else. It was very similar to the pickup below. We have owned several smaller pickups between then and now.

First thing today I am calling the PPF guy to make an appointment to have a full front end, A pilar and roof totally done. This is actually going to be the UV sacrificial layer for this truck.

I cannot park this in the garage so it is out baking in the VA sun everyday. I try to keep a protective coat on my truck, but after years even that does not work and the clear coat pays the price. If you look at my 2009 Tacoma from the side it looks like a total cream puff. If you look at the hood or roof, not so much. I figure I will pull this off in 6 or 7 years and redo it if I plan on keeping it. Which unless it has chronic issues, I will keep it much longer.

A couple of years ago they started making PPF for windshield and I have looked into that often. I just want to prevent the "pitted" look the windshield gets over time from small chips. The biggest issue then was that it could have a "wavy" look to it. No dice for me as that really bothers me. However I am sure technology is advancing so they may have perfected the clarity by now. I would love to get this and even if I had to replace it after 4 to 5 years that would be worth it. Those little pits create a glare that I do not like at all, and that cannot be filled in to fix.

When you get the chance fiddle with the Ford navigation system. I was pleasantly shocked by how good it was. When I picked up my truck on 12/28 the first thing I looked for was the 12v cigarette outlet to plug in my Garmin. I did not want to take any chances traveling the 1140 miles home, so I brought old tried and true along with me. When I found where it should have been it was filled in with a PB reset button so only the USB and regular outlet. I did not have the cable for powering the Garmin this way. Chip nearly saw a grown man cry.

I had Chip show me how to use the nav and it was fairly intuitive. Not to mention it was easy, worked great, and was actually far more "on the money" than the Garmin. The Garmin makes small corrections as you travel but the Ford info was dead on from the start.

I later found out there is a cigarette style 12v outlet for the rear passengers but I did not find out until I was home. This actually forced me to give up my crutch and use the Ford built in connected nav system, and I am glad I did. Again it really is very good and I will not be using my phone, which I do not use anyway, and the Garmin will be in the cubby for back up only.
