Probably just high hopes to not fork out $900 on FDRS….
Nah, you just need $50 for a two day license and that is enough to get all your stuff done. What is expensive is the Mongoose at $540, but after you use it, you can sell it and get most of your money back if you don't want to keep it.

my last update was 3.5.2 on 9/17/22.
nothing since.
but I see my F150 and Escape callign home on (as viewed on my Palo Alto firewall) several times per day.
I got my 3.5.2 about that same time. Nothing before or since.

Has anyone convienced their dealer to help with the update since OTA has been suspended ?

I haven't, but I don't like my dealer much.

I'm sure that Ford found a bug and that's why the OTA was suspended. So I bet a dealership would not have access to it even if they wanted to.

I've wondered this, too, but I presume that 3.5.3 was suspended because it's ~6GB in size and, therefore, relatively difficult to deploy as one huge package and extra sensitive to low voltage failures. I wonder if Ford's breaking the update into smaller bites. Someone on this forum has to know... you know there are Ford supernerds monitoring this chatter ?

Mine is stuck on 2.7.something. It updated several times and then stopped updating in October of this year. The dealer replaced the APIM a while ago. This whole OTA updates is really starting to piss me off.

I was told by many people that I needed to have it connected to a battery tender to keep the battery charged. I didn't need to do that with the first 3 or 4 updates and now it is stuck and wont download anything. Should I connect a battery tender to my truck to see if it will work? My problem is I don't have a garage so I must figure out a way to do it.

Without buying the contraption and buying a subscription to the Ford software does anyone have any suggestions that might help me get my job 1 truck up to date?

Thank you.

Having it on a charger is not going to get Ford to send you updates any quicker. Having it on a charger only helps to make sure the update doesn't fail once you get it, but you have to get the OTA trigger first.

Ford F-150 OTA Power-Up 3.5.4 1670435536658

Welcome to the frustration that is OTA and when will they be delivered to your truck. Fords lack of communication, planning, and delivery of these OTA's should be a master class in how to do everything wrong. Honestly there doesn't seem to be a magic bullet to get an OTA to deliver and install to your truck.

If you want 100% satisfaction you'll have to pony up the money for the Mongoose and the license. That's is the only way you can guarantee you'll get timely updates with minimal frustration.

What's the cost of this Mongoose and the license? Approximately?

So, how do I get it to trigger?

The OTA's have been suspended? When did this happen?

Currently $540 for the adapter Mongoose at Amazon and the cheapest FDRS license is 50 bucks for 2 days, although if you buy it at the right time you can get 3 days out of it due to timing.
My problem is I wouldn't know what to look for and how to do it.
