I've tried searching but this did not pop up in the results. Has anyone tried installing intelligent door handles on the rear door?

I often find myself needing to open/unlock the truck from the rear to put stuff in before getting into my driver's seat.

I’ve thought the same thing. The lighting has rear intelligent handles so it’s definitely possible. If anyone knows it would be Jesse.

This is extremely annoying to me. I had to change my unlock setting to unlock all doors to get around this. I would certainly be interested.

This bothered me at first because my dad's 2020 Sierra Denali had all four "smart" handles. However, his new 2022 Denali Ulimtate has dropped smart handles on the rear doors. I don't think Ram has them on the rear doors, either, but I could be mistaken. Obviously dozens of other vehicle models have all four doors covered, but at least Ford's isn't the only half ton truck slacking in this department now.

Huh. I guess that I’m in the minority in that I don’t really find it all that problematic the way it currently works. I just stick my hand in the handle of the front door to unlock all of the other doors, and then open the rear door.

Perhaps it’s because I’ve only ever had key-fob-button unlocking doors in the past, so this is already an upgrade from that?

My wife’s Lexus has the best of both worlds. If you touch the driver’s door it’s the only one that unlocks. If you touch the rear door it unlocks all the doors. It’s very convenient. Sure wish our trucks had that.

This was a feature on the 2019 Ranger, and then they got rid of it. So if it were on the F150 I can imagine they would have done away with it for 2022. Would be cool to have, except I literally never carry the key on my person.

seems some dont exactly understand the OP's request. Yes, you can set up your settings to unlock ALL doors when you touch the drivers side door handle but thats not exactly what hes saying. yes you can open your drivers door and unlock all doors...thats not what hes saying either.

Hes asking for a smart rear door handle so you can just grab a rear handle and open a door without having to negotiate the drivers handle or key fob. i know to some that seems so ridiculous but my wifes VW is that way. you can go to any handle and it'll unlock that specific door. again, first world problems.

btw, i know in the VW world owners were able to add smart handles. trying to remember if it was just installing the handle, wiring and coding...or if the wiring was already there and it was just the handle and coding...do any current F150's come with smart handle for the rear?

The 13th gen trucks were the same way, so I'm just in the habit to touch the drivers door handle before opening the back. .

The wife's car has intelligent handles on all four doors, which does make it easier and a no brainer when wanting to put something in the back.

For what Ford is charging for these upper trims you would think all four doors would have the intelligent handles. I'd rather have the handles than Alexa.

My wife's explorer has this and I wish mine did. Her lock button is also a bit nicer as well. It's molded into the handle (little lock on the top) instead of a black square and is more responsive.

I don't know if the black square is just a carryover from the previous gen (though my 13th gen was more responsive to lock) or if there is another reason.

If anyone finds out how to do the back doors, I'd be interested. Yes I can just use the front door, but it's a lot easier to just walk up to the door. Also the kids are used to the wife's car and think they can unlock it from the back doors...LOL. I swear one day they are going to rip the handles off :)

I know the expedition has it too. Again its not life or death but man when i have my 4 and 2 year old in my arms , its hard to do anything . Good thing my 4 year old has learned to help dad by sticking her little tiny hand in front door handle to open all doors.

I'm so programmed with touching the driver's door handle, I did the same with the Explorer I had even with the touch rears.
