OTA Ford Power-Up 3.5.3 and upcoming Alexa Built-in roll-out

do you have the full screen feature? I have a 22 with Alexa already and i dont see that option.

22s came with Alexa already (mine did too), which is an independent feature to the Sync/APIM update that gets you full wide screen phone.

It looks like they are just using the one description for the 21s (no Alexa) and 22s (with Alexa) on these now-joint updates, while they still contain the rest of the new APIM update.

Basically there's lots of overlap and redundancy right now.

Given what the description of this 3.5.3 update says, it's possible the next one, 3.5.4 or 3.6.0 will be the last piece. It could also just finish off the Alexa bit, and still need more pieces for the APIM. Who knows?

Like others Alexa is useless spyware to me. I hope it can be disabled. Android Auto works perfectly, I just hope they don't screw it up when it goes full screen. But I admit I dislike using voice commands. I will gladly press three or four buttons before resorting to talking to the truck.

The 3.5.3 is the APIM 22228 and is 5.7GB.

SO they are sending it in full at one time. So please be patient with this update and do not try to install it prior to notification of it being ready. This is very good for Ford. The confidence is growing.. I am happy to see it.

Alexa is not configured by default, to enable it you have to link it to your amazon account.

Ford did a good job with the full screen implementation. One thing to note though if you've never experienced full screen Android auto....you still won't get full screen Google maps due to how Android auto scales. Hopefully we will gain this functionality when they roll out the Android auto cool walk update but I wouldn't count on it.

...and full screen Google Maps/Waze work perfectly on iOS, for those on that side of the fence.

You have some updates. Your current apim update is 21355 that installs then after 22228 will be released

A 2022 F150 needs the latest APIM update to enable full screen CarPlay, no differently than the 2021's do.

The difference is that the APIM update was available for the 2022 a couple of weeks ago, while it has just become available for the 2021.

Like you, I am a 2022, but I didn't wait for the APIM update to be delivered OTA. I manually grabbed it as soon as it was available.

Also if you dont have alexa just wait. Some have reported 24hrs passing before it became available. Please have patience do NOT do a master reset as I did.

Did you check in PTS? Does it say wifi required, or will it download via the truck's own connection?
