I could see that. they'd have to post-process the fisheye footage to flatten it out. It did look a little different than the view you get with Pro-Trailer backup, and now makes sense why it wasn't mirrored properly.

That is not a surprise as that 360 camera is for a totally different purpose. Now you can mount a Right - Left, 3rd party camera set up in the back window and have a fairly nice view of the blind spots on either side. If this unit somehow uses the directional as a trigger to display that view on the 12 inch screen that will be perfect.

I'm technologically challenged... what does this mean? Does is mean that in addition to to buying the NAVIKS product, I would also need to buy a separate aftermarket camera system?

I don't have the factory oem cam.

But 360 Camera can provide a side truck view, as it does in Trailer Backup:

So heffer86 was probably a little underwhelmed, like me, that this is basically a $550 aux input device. I could see it coming in handy with something like THESE on a trailer.

That is a decent view from the existing 360 camera. I had not seen that view before. Pity then that it could not be utilized from this device.

Yeah they kind of dropped the ball on utilizing the camera system. Some of the tech is remarkable and others you have to ask "What were they thinking"? Some of the tech goes to the warning track and just a little more would have put it over the fence.

I hold out hope that updates may be able to rectify some of the shortfalls.

You can use the back button on your steering wheel hold for few seconds or the small button they provide.

I bought it solely for the HDMI input and to be able to use the full screen.

How are you routing the HDMI audio input stream to the speakers? I assume any of the 360 cameras doesn't give an audio stream because we still listen to the radio or BT or whatever while in any camera view.

If the apple TV has an option for sending BT audio and you can pair it to the Sync as a "phone", do you have issues with slight delay and video/audio sync? If not then I think you got REALLY lucky that both the wifi camera stream and BT audio stream have matched buffered deleys!
