I have been on a “plant hold” at the final destination ramp, 2.5 hours from my dealership, since 06/05 (Shipped: 05/11) and Original ETA was 06/06. It makes no sense, it’s not at the plant? Why is it in a plant hold?
This morning they pushed the eta again, to July 18th. Still on hold. Still no answers why..

I find myself pretty lucky compared to most people in this forum in regards to ordering and wait times. I ordered my Truck 3/17/2022 and had a blend of 4/28/2022 on my Platinum BAP.

I am however on what they call "Plant Hold" I'm just curious if any of you have heard this yet?? I've reached out to ford chat and they can't give me a definitive answer on what "Plant Hold" is. They've indicated that there are no notes for "chip hold" like I see others getting. My activate button is on my Ford Pass account with all modules that I've compared to identical trucks built and shipped. Is anyone else in this process experiencing "Plant Hold"???

My 2022 lariat powerboost was ordered on 29-Jan. Built in April, and waited for chips until mid-jun. shipped to my city (Calgary) and arrived at the railyard on 14-jul. has been on a plant hold since then. Dealer has been as helpful as they can be but they are not being told what the issue is either. Railyard has been told to hold vehicle until a factory ford rep can check something before it can be released to the dealer.
I am in Canada so when US customers tell me about emails and status from the factory I don’t get any of that. Everything is filtered via the dealer and ford isn’t telling the dealer why either.
So close but still not in my hands. So frustrating.

Hi Softball,

I'm in the same boat as well - ordered my Lariat Powerboost Jan 29th, it was built the week of April 10th, and it's been on plant hold for almost the entire time since then. I'm in Ontario, the truck is still sitting in Michigan. Its been a very frustrating experience dealing with Ford customer service and the limited information from the dealership. However, I've been able to determine the following:

* The truck was ready to ship, but then placed on a Plant Hold due to some issue
* Truck had all the chips, so it was never a chip issue
* Plant hold start and stop dates are in 6 to 7 day increments.
* I push my dealership to get more details from their area ford rep, from what they told me there was a quality (QA) issue with either the power steering or software. This same issue impacted ~35 other Canadian F150s, which were also put on plant hold.

In five months, why have they not been able to solve this problem? What is taking the ford rep or plant mechanic so long to fix this issue, while other trucks are being built and shipped. I'm not sure why our already built trucks are not prioritized.

Are any US folks having the same never ending Plant Hold with their Powerboost trucks? Any insight on what's happening?

Please keep me up to date with your progress, let me know when they release your truck and if you can determine what the rep was inspecting / reviewing.

Thank you,

Mine was built on 1/7 and was on a Plant hold until late July. Got to the dealer and they realized during PDI it was missing parts, after they contacted Ford. So it looks like it's a non-chip related issue holding them back. I was not told what parts were missing though. It's frustrating that they held onto it this long just to ship it without all the parts, then wait for the dealership to get them in. Who knows how long that will be.

I was originally told it was a headlamp issue. I can just imagine the reactive headlights being all googly eyed while driving down the road.

You would think the dealership can handle something like a headlamp inspection / repair. If they can manage the missing parts for BoostedKW at the dealership, why not a headlamp. It's crazy your PowerBoost has been held up for over a month at the railyard because of this.

Please keep us up to date with any progress. I'll do the same

Please keep us up to date, which parts missing, how long it takes for the dealer to repair etc.

i have bee told as mine is on a plant hold as well (my dealership contacted ford canada) since its been shipped and stuck at the railyard in my destination city, that a plant hold is when they need to confirm the quality of a part during a certain time in the manufacturing process. I have been on a plant hold for 6 weeks and each week it gets delayed another week. No end in site.

Good luck.
