Before anyone else weighs in, I do know that there are other threads on this topic. I have read through all that I have located & have not seen any answer to this question.

Now 7 weeks after having received the "Your vehicle is built & awaiting shipping" email, I have been told today that my truck is on "Plant Hold". Does anyone here really know what that means? Has anyone gotten their truck out of plant hold? How long did it take for it to be released? Does anyone know of any entity that can shed any light on the matter? Or is just the status that Ford places on vehicles after they have been rusting away in the parking lot so long that they think that they need to come up with an enigmatic excuse for the truck not being shipped?

By the way, the truck appears to have all of the modules & popped up on Ford Pass before the built email did. It is an XLT without any of the options that have been discontinued as of late.

And 1 final note. I flung a fit asking why this status came up 7 weeks after the truck was built. I got no answer. They did however issue me a Case #, like that would appease me. I guess that is the topic for the next thread. What, if anything, does having a Case # do for you?

I was built March 15th. no chip hold. I was awaiting shipping and saw my vin pop up on cassens (local hauler)

about 3 weeks later I was awaiting shipping - plant hold.

no one can tell me what plant hold means. But I THINK it’s a shipping issue. A guy built one day after me was same (plant hold) and got shipped 2 weeks ago. My bet is my truck is at the back of the lot somewhere and they can’t get to it easily. Also add the trucker shortage and high gas prices.

if anyone can really find out what plant hold means I’m all ears. But I think I might be right

I was curious so I googled and came across a thread or two on other forums - it appears it's a quality control thing. Final inspection caught something(s) that need to be corrected before they'll release. (In one thread it was a jack that had excessive lead paint.) So, while it's bad when you've been waiting forever... It's good in that they caught something(s) that needs to be corrected before it leaves the plant.

I'm on plant hold myself, nothing on my order stating I'm on-chip hold. I'm still technically "in production" I called Marketing today, states the truck has been produced however something is going on where the truck can't be shipped yet. ETA so far is 21May-27 May.. If you are being shipped VIA Rail, I can see where it's on shipping hold. Convoy for me and I'm 2.5 hours away from Dearborn. I haven't had any status updates for over a week, last one was 5/9/2022..
