Sound deadening project is done on the floor and back wall! Doors will have to wait for another day.

80 mil butyl covered by 315 mil closed cell foam. The two layers make a huge difference. I can hear the air conditioner and the radio over the exhaust now! At idle in normal mode, you can barely hear the engine running.

Unfortunately, the only picture I took was when it was stripped down. Glad I did it when the truck was still new. Very little cleanup required. A quick wipe down with alcohol and it was ready to go.

Suspension swap

If you’ve been reading this thread, you know I had the IHC Performance drop kit. While that kit is awesome for drag racing, I wasn’t thrilled with the ride. So, everything got swapped to the IHC Quality Ride 3/5 drop kit with Fox 2.0 rear shocks, the IHC helper bag kit, and an Airlift Wireless ONE onboard air compressor setup.

I only have a few miles on it but so far I can say it is a HUGE improvement in ride quality. Going back to the factory struts eliminated the front end bounce I was getting. Moving the rear shocks back to the factory outboard location made it much more stable in the corners.

For what it’s worth, I also like being able to put the spare back under the bed instead of inside it. I really enjoy the ability to adjust the airbags from inside the cab, without having to go look for an air pump/compressor.

I should have purchased this setup in the first place. Live and learn… ?‍

So the Fox 2.0 rears match well with the non FX4 stock strut? Thanks for the feedback as I was debating between the IHC performance and quality kits.

Yeah, I used to be big into Jeeps. I built this Scrambler from the ground up with a LT1 from a ‘96 Vette and a 700r4 transmission.

Dura coating tires

Spent my Father’s Day Dura Coating the tires. It took me about 3 hours to clean the tires and scrub the old tire shine off.

Word of warning! Wear gloves when cleaning AND when applying the dressing. That cleaner burned the skin off my index finger!

After I put the dressing on, I hit it with a leaf blower to smooth it out and keep it from pooling in the treads. It looks great and doesn’t come off or sling on your truck like other tire shine products.

It was dark when I got done. I’ll take some pics tomorrow and add them to the post.

Latest updates
So, it’s been a few weeks since I did the Duracoat on the tires. That stuff is pretty amazing! Yes, the cleaner ate the skin off my hands and they peeled for a week, but so worth it for a dry, shiny finish.

Lately, I’ve been running around to some local car meets and shows. I have seen some amazing rides! I know these aren’t all Fords but enjoy!

Next for me, I’m thinking of changing out the front end appearance to a Limited setup. The first pic below is the goal (minus the Limited on the hood). The following pic is where I’m at currently.

But on a long freeway trip I've been able to squeeze 28+ being REALLY nice to her.

But... there's NO WAY I can maintain that with that 5.0 calling out too me. It's just too damn much fun!

If I really get carried away I can pull that 5.0 down to 15MPG

Bulletpoint cell phone mount
Today I added a Bulletpoint cell phone mount with a MagSafe charger. It feels super stable. I need to decide what to put on the other ball mount.
