First time Ford owner. Add my truck to the list of shuddering Powerboosts. I bought my '21 Powerboost in December '21 and started having problems in January. Reverse brake assist stopped working and the onboard generator sporadically stopped working.
Took it in January and they said they need to order a part and they'd call me when it comes in.
Fast forward to the end of March '22 and I never got a call.
I called and they told me they have no open ticket and no history of me ever being there...
They wanted me to wait another 3 weeks until they had an opening so I contacted Ford corporate who basically told me "noted" so I left an honest Google review and the service manager called me the next day, apologized and said they want to get me in as soon as possible.
When I brought the truck in I told them I've also been experiencing a shudder during acceleration at different speeds. A manager drove the truck with me and was able to feel the shuddering and he says he feels it mostly in 8th gear.
They had the truck for 5 days and supposedly fixed everything except the shudder. They told me they need to replace the converter, which I'm assuming they mean the torque converter.
Then they told me that the part is on back order until June 10th and they recommend me leaving the truck at the dealer until it's fixed. I wouldn't be surprised at all if it took longer than June 10th.
$75k for this garbage. The payment is higher than my first mortgage and this is what I get.
I am beyond pissed off. I haven't even had the truck for 6 months and they want me to not have it for at least 2 months.
I'm considering just getting it back from them and driving it until the part comes in, especially after hearing all these stories of people's truck's not being fixed after being at the dealer multiple times. At least I could enjoy my truck instead of driving an older base model F150.
It's sad because I really like this truck other than those issues.
