I have had the Torque Converter replaced, drive shaft, spark plugs, one coil, engine mounts and recently I had my tires replace to Bridgestone Alenza Prestige. It still shudder at 55 to 70 when lightly throttling.
No, it did not fix the issue. I will be bringing my truck back in on the 6th of July for the TSB. I have also read from several Facebook group members that it fixes the issue.
I took my truck in for the high speed shudder. They determined that it was the driveshaft. I have not taken it out on the highway yet to find out it was the driveshaft that is the cause. After they replaced the driveshaft, they test drove it and they said it is back to normal. I will find out...
It’s interesting that a software update is mentioned by a Ford engineer. I had a brief conversation with someone on here who forced the updates through FDRS and he said that his transmission was a lot better after the updates.
He said that after the updates, his software version is 22….., mine...
I just got back from the dealer after having a couple recalls done. I also had them checked for the shuddering. The master tech took it for a test drive with a few tech specialists. They determined it is the driveshaft that is causing the shudder. They ordered a driveshaft and will be replacing...
I am curious as to any of the owners smell a burnt carbon odor in the cabin when the truck is shuddering ? It is very similar to the the odor that was getting to the 5 gen Explorers cabin when you go WOT.
The issue is definitely programming and it is across all engines, except for the 3.3, I have not read anything in that engine. Mine is a 2.7 btw. I had a 2020 F150 3.5L for five weeks as a rental and that thing was great and yes, I know it is a different gen.
I can't speak for the other owner...
What you have said makes sense, but I had a 2020 F150 rental for 5 weeks and not once did I feel the shudder in that truck. If the adaptive transmission is supposed to learn the driver's style, imagine how many how many styles it had learned.
I am having the same issue and I don't think that the F150's are crap. The problem is that from the responses we have been hearing from Ford people is that this is part of the characteristic of the 10 speed. If that was the case, everyone with an F150 would have the same issue. The fact that you...
I don’t even know how they can straight face saying “it’s normal”? If that is the case, everyone on this forum would complain. The fact that some are saying their truck ride smooth as butter, tells us it’s not normal.
We need someone who has a Ford IDS or FDRS to turn off the adaptive learning...
The vibration usually occur between 60 to 80 mph and when you accelerate or going up on an incline. The steeper the incline, the more vibration.
The sensation feels like your ran over a rumble strip or a low grade misfire. It is all over the truck.
