What was your battery voltage reading

Steady at 12.4. It was up in the 13s, but then the charger (the one recommended in this thread) went in to error mode. I restarted it and now it's holding at 12.4. It's set at 20amps.

It's back to the big and slow part of the IPMA update. I restarted FDRS because every subsequent time I would retry the update it would fail in the early steps. Hopefully it keeps going this time all the way through.

If it fails again and I'm stuck with my BCM showing purple, do I run a PMI on the BCM or the IPMA?

Honestly didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary with mine. It was just the adaptor, cable and small card in my Mongoose box. Lots of room for it to move around in the box though so I could see how some of them may appear used (scuffed) just from shipping/handling.

Most important thing is it works!

Exactly my experience and my viewpoint. Used or not, that magic little green machine is my hero.

Well, thanks all for confirming that mine isn't unique. I just got in from testing it out in the truck with the J2534 toolbox and also ForScan and no issues. Still kind of annoyed that it looked used when it showed up, even if it does work.

I spent over 5hrs or so today and no joy. It did a long stint with the ipma which look like it went well. Said it finished ok but it did not go away on the update screen. Said I had a gateway updated also but failed said it couldnt connect to vcm. Im really pist. Tried the Nano just for the hell of it, same issue. Im really starting to hate Ford. ?

Who needs OTA and nonstop factory development when you can just take your truck home from the dealership and keep it exactly like it is forever? ???

My Mongoose is supposed to arrive tomorrow. Hopefully it’s not used.

It seems like a lot of people have been getting used products from Amazon lately. Total BS when you’re paying for new.

JFYI - Mine was an open box as well. No signs of usage on the device itself. Looks good to me. But the device was already activated when I finished the driver installation. It bugged me a little, but I’m over it! As long as it servers the purpose I don’t really care

FWIW, the IPMA, GSM, ABS and one other module I can’t remember never cleared for me after they updated but they definitely updated. Often times you need to do a network scan to see new modules that may have updates available. Sometimes one update depends on another.

GSM and ABS have not disappeared for me for some time. I am going to give it a go tomorrow at IPMA again. When my Mongoose came tonight I did the CCM and its good. Then I did 2 rounds of GWM and APIM and they are both good. Hopefully we are near the point of BC working!!

I have no problem doing all of this, but is this going to get my truck unstuck from the failed 1.7.1 update? The thread is so long it is hard to tell if that is why people are doing this. Is this going to cause any sort of issues with getting future OTAs?

I saw someone on here say it was $150 but on amazon it looks like the mongoose costs $500?
