I heard an interesting story from my father-in-law this morning. Take it with a grain of salt. He bought a Silverado (the only one) off the lot yesterday in Sebring, FL, and mentioned that the heated seats weren't working because they intentionally didn't add the necessary chips. Evidently, they would be shipped to the dealer at a later date when they came in.

I sure hope the part about them being shipped and installed after is true. The news articles I've read about them were that the heated seat features were deleted entirely for a certain run. I believe the very newest builds are regaining heated seats.

In Canada anyway, on the build and price it's showing they aren't being built with heated seats or steering wheels. ($75 credit or something lame in lieu)

I was not aware of an option to have the chips installed at a later date.

If you don't need a GM at the moment, I'd wait until 2023. There's no way I'm going to pay that amount of money for a de-featured vehicle.

I heard that when chips come in that the lender will be charged a fee to install and program. Not confirmed. Regardless I would not pay the money for a GM truck with the more competitive and better tech equipped trucks on the market.

They hide it more on the US side which sucks, you have to click through summary and a couple other things to see the 75 dollar credit for no heated wheel and seats. It's a shame that's the option they choose to get rid of, because that was the one thing I can't settle for on a $65K truck.

This will be my first ford, and while it is more expensive than the AT4 I would normally of bought (and the only thing it lacks tech wise in the heads up display). The ford interior is way better and the rest of the other tech blows the chevy away.
