Just drove my new 2021 PB off the lot and that night it gave me a "service required" error for the PPOB system. I think it may be due to the dealer not reconnecting something properly when they sprayed in the bed liner. I thought I remembered seeing a thread about it somewhere else but I can't find it.

Has anyone else had this issue?

Took it back to the dealer this morning. It was exactly as I suspected: when they sprayed in the bed liner they forgot to reconnect it properly.

Unfortunately, I suspect this is going to be a common occurrence until dealers get up to speed on how the hardware in the new PB hybrids work.

Well, you just educated us on what to tell them to look for! Good job

I agree that things like that will be a common occurrence until the dealerships know more than the members of this forum.
When I took delivery of my new truck last week, I knew more about all the features, etc. than the dealership knew, so I basically gave him the orientation during my inspection. He said that due to COVID, they had not had their usual training when a new model is introduced. I offered to freelance and train their staff to get them up to speed.

Question: Your dealer did the spray in and not the factory? If so, wouldn't that affect your yellow payload sticker, as it won't reflect the liner weight?

Yep, I'd assume so. I'm not sure how to figure out how much the liner weighs though.

I think it might be different from what happened in that thread (although that's scary), here's the screen I'm seeing...

I just drove my new 2021 F 150 Platinum Powerboost off the lot, and got the same error.... I haven't even had the spray in bedliner applied yet. Looks like I have to make a trip back to the dealer already...

Update on 3/2/21: I brought the truck in to the dealership and they didn't know much about the Pro Power onboard system at all. They had to contact Ford Engineers, and the response was "it's a know issue that is a software problem with no resolution yet. They are working on a fix, but don't have a time frame yet for when the fix will be available." So the truck is good to drive, but Pro Power isn't available.

I just got this error yesterday. I guess I need to get it into the dealership so they will have a record of the issue.

One thing I did note is that if I turn the engine on and off a few times I have been able to get it to work. I was able to use it last night for a few hours at the drive in.
