My passenger door requires a lot more force to close than the rest of the doors. I'm not sure what's interfering. I know its not latch interference, its more like soft resistance like from the weather stripping. Has anyone else had this experience?
On my truck, the last door closed requires more force because the compartment seals pretty tight. Doesn't really sound like this is what you are experiencing, though. Have you asked your dealer to check door alignment?

that actually sounds like my problem. I will test that theory tonight! I never thought that the sealing of the cabin would be an issue, and really shouldn't be since the HVAC system is not sealed from the outside.

Having this issue as well on the front driver door side. Can’t open the door from outside or inside when it gets really cold. Super frustrating.
Dropped it off at the dealer and they called the next day saying there’s no recall and that they just added lubrication to the locks.
Also they said if it happens again then to bring it back but as of right now it does not appear that they did anything significant to fix the issue. I will update if it happens again (probably will) and what the dealership says about it.
Hi there. Can you send us a DM with your VIN and dealership info? I can look into this on my end.

That's frustrating. Mines at the dealer now.. wondering if they will just do the same since of course it's not been cold enough the last couple days for them to experience it. Sigh..

Yeah I just got mine back yesterday from the dealer and today it was -10 Celsius (Ontario) . Happened again …. Going to call them back to let them know. Not sure what else to do.

I took mine to the dealer yesterday. They took the door apart and did not find any issues. They said they cleaned it out with alcohol to remove any moisture / water from the locking cables and such.

I have to bring it back for the undercarriage recall when they get the parts, so I will continue to try the door at various temperature, after snow, rain etc and see if it still occurs. I highly doubt they resolved anything.

I just had this very issue happen with my front driver door. Remote started (14 F), waited a few minutes, went to leave and could not get the driver door to open. Had to go to the passenger side to get in. When I arrived home i used the key to massage the door lock to the unlocked position. I got it to lock by using the massage with the key again. Seems it might not be frozen, but whatever grease they use may get sludgy / non-working at low temperatures. Looking at part numbers - the door latch is also the lock mechanism so if the lock isn't working right the door wont open. Hopefully this isn't the same issue the 13th gen has.

Guess I'll get an appointment and see what they find.

My 21 screw sport had an in-operative left rear door lock, dealer found defective wire harness plug/connecter at the firewall, broken/bent pins... replaced wire harness.

Brought mine in to the dealer in +3 weather and the door was working fine, they told me they couldn’t find any issues with it. -12 here today warmed up the truck for 15 minutes, drove it for 5 minutes and couldn’t open the door from the inside, the handle was stuck and won’t move, lock nob wont move. continued to drive for another 15 minutes and it both started working again. Drove the truck again later in the day with no issues. Around 6pm entered the truck again for a 15 minute drive and once again I couldn’t open the door from the inside (locking Knob wont move and handle is stuck), climbed through the passenger side. I can open the driver door from the outside but I’m not able to lock it (locking knob is stuck in the down position). Really annoyed… 70k truck and I’m climbing through the Center console to get out and can’t lock it at night

Mine worked fine today with temps in the mid 20s. No rain, clear skies. Drove around for a while without issue. As soon as nightfall hit and the temps dipped to the mid teens the door stopped working. It’s almost as if whatever lubricant they’re using is freezing around the mid 20 degree mark.

I couldn't stop laughing when I read the posts here! I've dealt with freezing locks on three different Gen 13 F-150's and I thought that since the Gen14 was supposed to be 92% all new, surely they finally redesigned the door locks. Guess door locks are part of the 8%. Something to look forward to when my '22 F-150 shows up.
Sad but true. I think Ford even had a recall to address it on the 2010-2014, I recall.
I live in a fairly tropical climate so I have never had my 2012 truck in for the malady. But yea, this has been going on for a long time with F150's. Same with the IWE on the 4WD trucks, although they were finally redesigned for 2021.

I guess every time it’s cold I’ll have to drive with the door open. It’s going to be a long long winter if they don’t have a fix for it.

I will try to look it up but some folks fixed it themselves with better results than the help they got from the dealership performing the Ford procedure.
I think it was some form of lubricant that could withstand extreme temperatures, but I don't remember what exactly it was.

Both doors on drivers side are not usable when temp is below about 30F. When I back into my driveway, the passenger side is not accessible due to a hedge. So I tied a rope to a plastic stool and leave the driver window open. After climbing through the driver window in the morning, I can pull the stool up into the cab so I have it with me if needed.
