Hello, Tom!
Send us a private message with your VIN and the name and location of your local Ford dealer.
I’d be happy to see what I can do to assist with this screen issue. Thanks!
Good afternoon! May you please send over a message with your VIN and dealership information? I will look into this concern for you.
I sent all my info to you and never heard nothing back regarding my lane assist.
Had one email asking about my windshield recall.

as it is intermittent (and very rare, only happened twice) I doubt that there is anything to be done other than it needing a software update in the future to solve whatever bug is present

Have you guys checked the fuse boxes for fuses that aren't properly seated? It sounds like a software bug but it would be good to rule out some easier to check electrical stuff.

Has anyone found a valuable solution? I’ve had my truck for six months and it’s only become a problem in the last month. I would like to say it was after that last software update but I’m not 100% sure. First time I pulled over with the truck running wiped off all of my camera lenses and it seem to work. But subsequent times I’ll try the same method and it doesn’t work. Kind of dangerous because it makes me think what other glitches are there like collision detection?

The only reliable way I can make mine reset is to pull over, shut off the truck, open and close the driver's door (to completely shut down everything) wait until EVERYTHING shuts off, then restart truck. So far this has worked 100% of the time for me anytime this happens.

It's a crappy work around, but it works until they fix the glitch. Good luck.

Hi Ford,
Since you're here...
I've had the same random lane centering shut off as described in this thread since I got the truck. I'm not sure it's ever worked for more than 2 hours.
Can you help confirm if this is expected behavior like as a result of the 2 inattentive driver events mentioned earlier, or unexpected behavior aka a bug?

Good luck, they haven't fixed one truck on here yet.
Never responded to mine and
I sent all my info in..
One email wanting me to get windshield recall fixed. Not a word about Lane Assist.
Where is just one person that's sent info in that anything has been done.
Would love to hear what Ford's fix is..
Yet to see any info as to what is causing it or a fix..

You have a point. I admit that the first time I saw a response with official Ford representation, I was impressed! I also thought it was brilliant on Ford's part.
But as time has gone on there isn't any evidence that it is an asset or legitimate help that is implied.
That's a real disappointment because it is a negative reflection rather than the huge opportunity of goodwill between Ford and consumer.

Follow the thread back.
It's been over 2 months ago I was ask to send my info.
I received email after that about. My windshield recall.
Never a word about what to do with my truck..
Might as well send info to Santa Claus.
I haven't seen one person that sent in their info say they got anything from it.

Same. I sent my info as requested, no follow up.

So basically someone at Ford is collecting VINs with problems and then hoping that we all eventually stop complaining.

We have no idea if they are a Ford Rep or not.
I can use a Ford Icon as my Avatar.
Or as you say, it's just to appease.

I have been having the exact issues as OP describes. I was driving from Texas to Colorado, and it happened to me at least 3x just on that trip. Windshield sparkling clean, driving on interstate with lane markings perfectly visible, straight road. The Lane Centering deactivated and only way to re-activate it was to pull over and restart the truck. Very annoying when you are on an interstate with no place to pull over for miles.

I do recall having a "Cancelled" message to show up on my IPC when it deactivated, and while cruise control and lane keeping assist continued to work I could not re-activate the Lane Centering (or "self steering" feature). I was getting the exact same message on my IPC as OP posted earlier. I am pretty convinced this is a software bug; something is causing the Lane Cenetring software to crash, and restarting the truck restarts the software modules as well. My 2 cents

My truck is 2021 F-150 Platinum, Dec 2020 build

So far I'm finding the Lane Centering more annoying than useful.
But.. I haven't given up yet.

I've done a lot of traveling, rented a lot of different cars with Lane Centering and I don't find Ford's to be any better or worse than the others.

But now that I own a Lane Centering vehicle, I'm trying to get used to it and yes... it DOES shut itself off from time to time but so far it seems to be doing that when it's not convinced that I’m keeping my hands on the wheel.

So I think (in "my" case) it might be an "err on the side of caution" thing.

I’m determined to keep trying… to a point!

I know this tech will improove itself with time (and OTA updates) so I'll keep trying...
