I flew out on Friday morning to Chapman Ford in Horsham, PA from Fort Worth, Tx to pick up my new King Ranch 4x4. Got to the dealer at 3:40pm and left at 6pm completely satisfied with the pickup and buying experience. It would have been way faster but i had a laundry list of things I wanted to inspect before signing. Once I hit the road, I had a leisure 1,560 mile trip back home only stopping for gas and food etc. The trip took just under 24 hours total and these are my only complaints from the truck and drive.

1) The lane centering needs works. While activated, it likes to hug the right hand stripe. Not a terrible thing on a two lane road but presents issues on a multi lane road or highway.

2) Myview settings reset on me twice while on the drive. The second time, i couldn't add the screen back to myview so ill have to work on that later.

3) The rear speakers are not putting sound out on the factory settings. I had to move the fader to the rear floor on the screen to be able to hear them. Also, if you havent yet, change the output to surround instead of stereo. Much better sound quality.

4) PA and VA drivers are terrible. Left lane is for passing...

My MPG for the total trip was 18. I had only 15 miles of all electric and averaged probably 75-78mph. I had a pretty good head wind for around half of the trip as well. Im pretty sure I missed a thing or two but these are the few things that stood out to me.

Your second picture shows you have the backup camera activated while cruising 75! My camera always cuts off when I hit about 10 MPH. How did you manage that?
Thanks for the report. I love my KR for road tripping. Just got back from a 2000 mile trip out west.

My lane keeping is pretty much centered, although that reveals to me that I personally must prefer a little closer to the driver's side line. I catch myself with a little effort in that direction to respond to the "keep your hands on the wheel" alert.

I took a long trip recently in a Genesis G80 luxury sedan and the lane keeping on it was pretty centered too. And it was also more polished, in my opinion, because it could stay engaged in circumstances that the truck will disable lane centering. (narrower lanes, poorly visible markings, interruptions in markings on one side.... Etc)

But for long stretches on interstate and other well marked highways, the truck has been great.

Since it's all based on camera data, it's possible that the calibration is off center? I know when any of the cameras have to be replaced, Ford uses a tool that "relaces" the combined camera views to correct the 360 degree overlap between cameras. Pretty sophisticated stuff.

PA drivers aren’t terrible but drivers near Philly are. Go west and it would be much different. Basically anywhere from nyc to dc and the surrounding areas suck!

Usually the drivers on the interstate whipping in and out of traffic and even passing on the shoulder in North Jersey got PA plates on em..

I think it might be an option that hasn’t been sent out as an update for earlier builds. I just hit the button on the dash and it works.

Just my observation from the trip. Left lane campers are the worst.

Cool road trip. I notice your temp at 65…. About 18.3 Celsius. Do you find the fan runs warm relative to temp setting? I’m usually at 18-18.5C as well.

If any of you find yourselves up north, good luck if you have to drive anywhere near Toronto. The 401 is consistently ranked one of North Americas busiest and most dangerous highways - often taking the top spot. It’s a free for all of which lane is open and everyone weaves like maniacs, often passing on the right because the left lane is so clogged.

I’ve seen the OPs observation about lane keep a few times… right bias is concerning especially in rural areas with bikes and Mennonite horse/buggies. Don’t think I’ll be using that feature a ton.

---Left lanes are for passing---

Up here in the great white north, our roads are in such terrible condition, that the right lane, is almost unusable from heavy truck and traffic damage. hence why we all drive in the "Passing lane".

So much fun it's even got it's own show... Covers from Toronto area to Chatham..

@OP - congrats on the new truck! Can't wait for mine to be built this coming week.

The one thing I am most impressed about - or worried?! ;) - is that you drove for almost 24 hours non-stop :D. Seriously, how do you do it? I love driving and have no problem driving 10-11 hours straight with the usual bathroom/food breaks. I find myself snack a lot on long drives. If my mouth is busy I will stay awake. I will pick up the truck from Granger and will have about 1100 miles to drive. I don't think I'll be able to do it in one day and there is no way in hell I am letting my wife drive it :ROFLMAO:....at least not on her maiden voyage.
Perhaps even not in her first 50K miles.

Thats's Biden country for you. Same is in Massachusetts. As I said, just spent a week in western PA and it's not like this at all. There were some douchebags in WV though.

I honestly couldn’t tell you. I just continue to adjust things until I’m comfortable. I sometimes crank the AC and turn on my heated seat lol.
