I don't know enough about the suspension to offer any advice. But I like the idea of a cab-height camper shell with a bigger tent on top that spans the cab and camper. Like one for an explorer or something.

Still need to decide on a suspension setup, if anyone has suggestions.

Anyone overlanding a RCSB? Hard to choose between rooftop tent and camper shell.

Which tire and size did you go with?

Can't go wrong with bilstein 6112/5160 combo! Or try their new 8100 shocks for a few dollars more

Ok what is the budget and how far down the rabbit hole do you want to go? Are you running stock Raptor wheel tire setup now, or did you go for a smaller tire size?

Shocks, 2.5’s will give you best ride and offroad performance, but they come with a price $$$
Shocks, 2.0 a good balance between the 2.5’s and like 6112 setup
6112’s etc, lower end but better then stock.

Do you plan to add, bumper, skids, sliders etc? All of these things need to be considered as a most shocks for the f150 come with a 600lb rating vs if you add all these things you need to consider 700lb springs.

Not sure this helps but it may answer some of your questions.

You can still do a camper shell with a roof top tent, had things setup that way on my Tacoma when I still had it.

This is a late comment so we apologize! But a quick and simple answer would be to consider the Bilstein 6112/5160 set up or the Eibach Stage 2R set up. Both are solid kits and very similar but also different. Eibach will ride a lot smoother day to day due to its shock design being a 2.0. But it still firms up the truck where needed while still providing a smooth daily drive. Bilstein will be slightly firmer since its a 2.5" shock body so it will perform much better for the heavier hits and off-roading, but will be firmer for a day to day driver.

We have a good amount of RCSB customers and id say that 95% of them have gone with the Eibach Stage 2R kit and have been very happy with it.

No pressure at all but if you did want a set up, tonight is the night to snag something! We have a ton of sales ending tonight so come check our site out and let us know if you get anymore questions!

Here is that Eibach Kit I mentioned:

Camper shell 100% since you don't have real storage behind the seats.

You can either mount a RTT to the shell or get a shell with an integrated roof top tent.

Check out Go Fast Campers for example.

Bilstein 6112s are the goats for the money.

But if you've got some money to spend, I'd wait until you get the camper, load it up with your gear then go weigh your truck and get some custom valved shocks.

My original plan was gen2 raptor rear leafs (or aftermarket leafs) with 2.0 or eibach, UCA and the same for the front. But now I'm thinking once I have the shell and my heater + accessories I might want something a little more than what the gen 2 leafs can do.

Does this eibach kit raise the front? I need to bring the front up about 2" still.

I'm also leaning towards shell. If I went tent, I can always put storage boxes underneath, but I do like the idea of loading everything in the shell and I wouldn't mind sleeping in one either. With the 6.5' bed I think I could easily fit all my items and sleep at 6'1". 10k for a shell, while very nice I'm sure, is probably out of the question. I can't justify that when the procharger kit is 7k lol!

it does indeed. They can go up to 3" in total front lift (excl PB and Tremor Models) but Eibach recommends staying around the 2.3-2.5" max mark for best performance and ride quality.

you could do the Icon RXT leaf packs on your truck. This is what we chose to run with our Tremor shop truck which was constantly loaded down in the back. We went with a rack/tent set up and then had a slide out system put into the back for storage and what not. We went this route to keep the tent be as seamless with the roof rack as possible. So we did sacrifice some bed space doing this. In your case, if you run a cap instead, then you wont have that issue! You should consider something like the OVS cap. They are very well built and our customers have loved them for their overlanding set up.

But hey if you ever get questions or need some help on getting things set up feel free to reach out to us anytime! This is our shop truck so you can somewhat see our set up

Thank you for the ideas Derrick. Now I'm properly torn between shell and tent lol. I'll make my decision soon!
