I was impressed when I found out Granger Ford was offering 3% below invoice for custom orders. I thought I could not match that locally until I dug deeper into the XPlan details. Correct me if I am wrong but I interpret the XPlan rules to include a price reduction for the holdback and advertising fee. Those two items pretty much equal the 3% discount that Granger is offering.

I bought the last two trucks with X-Plan and it will get you invoice pricing plus $1-200 for "paperwork." They are supposed to show you the invoice at the time of purchase as part of X-plan. Granger with 3% under invoice is a much better deal. That is if you're ok with the wait for Ford to actually build it. OTherwise you may luck out and find one at a local dealer that honors X-plan.

I would send a build to Granger and ask them for their price.
then go to your local dealer and ask them for their price using xplan.

compare and chose.

I ordered through Granger and the process has been easy as pie.

As for time lines see my sig but basically I ordered on 10/4 built 11/23 and started shipping on 1/13

Good luck.

Did the comparison also.

The local Denver dealers did not want to give me xplan to begin with, and once they did, the quote they gave me was two or three thousand higher than Granger. I ordered from Granger in late July, built 11/22, no ship date yet.

Yea, I sent my dealer the offer I got from Granger and they told me to go with Granger. I said OK. I will save 7k and use that for a small vacation drive home from Iowa. Thanks

I did the same, dealer would do x-plan, but Granger was a couple grand cheaper. Ordered from Granger on 9/23/22 and it was delivered on 12/23/22. Finally got a chance to pick it up this past weekend.

For me it was the cost of a trip to Granger. What I could have saved would have spent more to get there and drive it home. I went local with xplan.

I went D plan in California. I wouldn’t have saved anything with travel there and drive back. Think I would have lost money

For anyone that has bought through Granger, I assume you don't pay both Iowa taxes and your home state taxes when you register the truck?

Also, I assume you have to handle the registration yourself at the local DMV.

For the record, that is a total pain in *** in the Peoples' Republic of Austin.

You pay the tax for the state that you live in. You will get an "In Transit" title mailed to you after you pick up your truck and drive it home. You then take that to your DMV and deal with whatever your state has.

I also used X-plan in California. (Hit or miss on day or dealership that will honor it) If I had more time and inclination to travel, would have ordered form Granger. Current shipping rates eat the savings between Xplan and 3% under invoice. Folks also need to consider if you are buying cash or financing. My credit union does not do out of state deals so would have had to pay cash, register in CA then apply for the loan. I ended up doing 0% for 36 mths with Ford.

The older I get the more my body says "it's not worth the savings".
My local dealer surprised the crap out of me today when he said he would honor x plan for lot inventory. Starting to get back to normal folks!
