I damaged my front window trim while scraping off ice from the front windows. I didn't realize how soft the window trim is until now. Is there a good way to fix this?

What are the odds? I just noticed I did exactly the same thing today on my side window molding.

Little to aggressive on the chipping at ice me thinks.

I will watch with anticipation any answers

Unfortunately the right way to fix that is replace the trim piece. Not sure of the cost of the trim piece but probably not cheap.

Putco sold a kit to stick over top and cover the trim for last generation trucks. Not sure what is different about our doors but it doesn't appear to be listed on website for 21+ trucks.

I found a relatively good fix for the problem. A heat gun and those mechanic gloves. You don't have to heat it much at all then press down lightly while wearing the gloves and the material melts back together. I used the gloves as , 1. I didn't want to burn my fingers and 2 the texture of the glove seems to lend itself well to the final product as far as looks go. Saved the $200+ to buy new and unless I look close it isn't noticable.

Finally had the time to try this out and it worked! It's not perfect, but it looks significantly better. I was surprised how much heat the pieces of trim could take before softening. Here's the before and afters. Thanks for the tip!
