Hi all,

I notice that stage 1 kits for the 2024 f150 are now using generation 6 blowers instead of generation 5. That's great news, though the power and torque ratings seem to be the same as the gen 5 kits had. Perhaps they were able to reduce boost slightly and make the same numbers with the more efficient gen 6 blower, or maybe there's just more headroom in the unit for further power increases later? I would not be surprised to find that the blower pulley diameter is slightly larger than it was on the gen 5 stage 1 kits. 3/36 powertrain warranty is still available, by the way.

I fix software bugs!
I noticed their availability too. I wonder what the differences are between a Gen 5/5x and a Gen 6

Greater efficiency and greater potential airflow, I think. Another side effect I'm hoping the change to gen 6 makes is that hopefully, later on upgrading from stage 1 to stage 2 will net you the full power a stage 2 should have. As it was, if you had stage 2 installed from the beginning you would have 805 hp. But, if you upgraded from stage 1 to stage 2 you would have 775 hp instead of the 805, the difference being a stage 1 upgraded to stage 2 was still based on a gen 5 blower but a stage 2 kit from the beginning used the gen 6 blower. Putting the smaller pulley, bigger throttle body, and more aggressive tune on a gen 5 blower does not net the same power as those things applied to a gen 6 blower. Now, stage 1's will have the superior gen 6 blower.

Speaking with Terry @beefcake racing, I think all kits are now being shipped with the gen 6 blower. I've searched the web for any info about the differences in them, but all I can find is "we updated the rotors and porting for improved air flow and efficiency". I haven't been able to find any updated power numbers to go along with it.

Probably best to call whipple directly.

Geez, that throttle body must be really loud to give up the power. I haven't heard one myself so I don't know.

Not sure how loud it is, but it's bad enough to cause several post on here and other forums trying to figure out where the noise was coming from. This truck already has more horsepower than anything I've ever owned so if i lose out on a few ponies I'll be ok. Besides, it's a 6000lb brick wall and I'm not taking it to the track. Just wanted a supercharged F-150 since the 2nd gen lighting came out.

Roger that. If I end up with one, it'll be a rcsb 4wd. Only reason I might not go for stage 2 is because of losing the powertrain warranty.

I've got a 4wd crew cab long bed that's been leveled and is sitting on Raptor take offs. Not gonna be racing, but when you can make the unsuspecting Charger/Challenger look bad, it's kinda fun. When you finally decide, give Terry a message. He is really good to deal with.

Whipple updated the rotor profiles making them more efficient on the gen 6, especially when they are spun very hard (high boost applications).

Yeah no, those folks have lost their minds. No way I'd pay that, even given the fact that it's Canadian dollars.
