Just curious what is the max tire size I can mount up with no rubbing for a stock truck. I have a Lariat, Crewcab, 4x4 FX4. I am a little disappointed in the duration of the ones that came on it stock. I am planning to stick with the stock 18" wheels. Thanks!

I'm trying to get the absolutely tallest tire for stock suspension 18" stock wheels (powerboost FX4), and Discount Tire 'indicated 275/70/R18 would fit but 295/70/R18 threw a flag.

Please let me know if anyone has had success with something taller than the 275/70/R18 Falken AT3's.

...like a few others, my priorities are (in order)
Quiet ride
Taller sidewall
Aggressive look
Mpg

@FrankSJ Thanks for directing me there. (so many threads)

Based on the mpg delta (from that thread) with the 295/70/18, that's prob too big for me.

It looks like Falken doesn't offer the Wildpeak in 285/70r18 or 285/75/r18 right now, which is unfortunate, so it looks like I may have to stick with the 275/75R18.

Thank you for giving us a look @scuba!

As mentioned, 295/70R-18 is max fitment with factory wheels due to the high offset, but it's tight. 285/75R-18 may work, but this tire is pushing 35-inches.

285/70R-18 should fit comfortably however as you mentioned the A/T3W is not produced in this size.

Did you end up with the 275/70/18 Wildpeaks? That's what I'm looking to get and wanted opinions.

@RocketPack12 I didn't end up getting the Wildpeaks (or anything other than stock). When I was posting and contemplating a purchase, I decided to plus-up my PSI on the stock tires and get datapoints on mpg before voluntarily reducing it. By way of update, even at 40PSI, I've gotten consistently 18.0mpg (slightly better than the 17mpg when I was at ~34/35psi). Truck is a powerboost screw Fx4 5.5ft box with bed cover, and 18inch wheels. I'm assuming at this point the 18-inchers are keeping me in the back of the pack mpg-wise vs all the other datapoints on here, which seem to center on ~21.

Sorry I couldn't help. Just slightly miffed at my mpg vs others.

EDIT: Most of my driving is at 65mph, so that may be the factor hurting me. Around town, it goes up.

If you stick with a non E rated tire you will see very minimal change in MPG. Just put on 275/70R18 General Grabber ATX same as Tremor. Added an inch from stock and it gets the look your going for.

I went with the 2”. I have 39 and 1/4” measurement front wheel well and 40” in back. I read multiple post with similar questions. Wild peaks actually have a 285/65R18p tire but it’s OE different tread no 3PMSF rating. Ordered those unknowing this and immediately changed. Ride with new setup is improved over stock and tire noise is not noticeable around town or when doing 80 on freeway.

Yep I’m going to order some of those grabbers this week and also getting a level. I like the look. More tires need to come in a standard load at the 275/70/18 size.

Doesn't tread design and compound affect MPG as well? For example, if someone went from a standard load range to a load range E highway all season like the Michelin Defender LTX, there would be a slight hit to MPG due to the weight but I don't think it's going to be as big of a hit as going to a load range E mud terrain tire.

I would agreed with that in theory. Looking at options most Load E were over 55lbs compared to 37lbs for OEM
