I will go count now. - It has 12 bolts. But I thought 8.8 had 12

OK. I’m feeling pretty sure I have a 9.75 now.

This in on my 24 RCSB 5.0 V8 4X4 with 3.73s. Seams EVERYTHING I have read said I have a Super 8.8. Both super 8.8 and 9.75 have 12 bolts.

But to my eye, I thought this was a 9.75.

You guys have confirmed it for me. 9.75 rear and 8.8 front.

If you check the axle tag on your truck it tells you the size and ratio as well. The 3E31 defines this as a 3.31 ratio, electronic locking, and 8.8"

So the 9.75 is smooth and 8.8 is stepped like that. I was wondering what mine had ill have to look tomorrow and see what it looks like.

Also, the 8.8 is kind of square with rounded corners and the 9.75 is more pear shaped.
