2024 F150 w/ 3.5l Ecoboost, only 7k miles currently.

I get a weeping/squeaking noise that I can't figure out. It's too quiet to record reliably, but both driver and passenger can hear it. Like a WOOWOOwoowoowoowoo noise, fading away after a few cycles.

It happens under load (towing/hauling) when you lift up on the pedal, especially pronounced going up hills, heavier loads. It started when only had 3k on the odometer.

Anyway, I'm going to send this to a Ford Dealership for warranty, I just am not sure how to describe the issue, and am afraid they won't be able to replicate the noise.

Is this a known thing/issue?

That sounds like what im experiencing with my 2021 XLT 2.7L V6 eco boost.

At 34-48 mph i hear a whine or fluctuating WOOOwooo when i lift off of the accelerator. I took it to FORD and had them take a look at it and they came back with a factory note explaining that the whine is expected. Im skeptical but it hasn't gotten worse since i first noticed it. And its been 8 months.

Let me know if they tell you something different - please update us when you find out more!!

Unfortunately, kind of what I expect as well. Just want in in writing in case this engine gives me problems later

Yep , I hear you on that. I was able to find the communication i had with he Ford service manager

"I left a voicemail to provide an update, but wanted to send it via text as well. We've taken it on 3 drives total, performed the visual inspections as well - we ultimately determined it is transmission related as the noise still occurs if put in neutral which eliminated the rear diff., and the transfer case is operating as designed. Ford has a service message/bulletin (SSM 51939) released for vehicles (multiple models to include Lincolns) 2017-2023 for your transmission (10 speed) that a whining noise can be present in the bellhousing and/or front of the transmission fluid pan. They state it can be most prominent when at operating temperature and potentially higher RPMS and in the park position and while driving. I have printed off the bulletin for you as well, and Ford states "due to the offset gear drivetrain in the front support and has no effect on durability". Ford does not confirm when it can occur, but otherwise noted it can be a new symptom and we've followed the protocol for reporting it to them

I'd take it in and have it documented like you hinted at. But hopefully this provides some kind of peace of mind...

2019 Wrangler Rubicon...for now
This just started happening to my '22 Tremor w/66K miles.

I had a 60K service done 3 weeks ago that included a transmission fluid drain and fill. On a cross country trip, I noticed the described sounds. At first it was the "Wooowooowoo" sound that appeared under acceleration, uphill at elevation.

I can now reproduce the sound (just a single "wooo" or chirp) by letting off the accelerator quickly.

I am taking in to the dealer later this week so I will report back.

I believe mine may be making a similar sound with only 1200 miles on it. It has made it since I got the vehicle at approximately 800 miles. My assumption is the lack of engine cover is allowing me to hear stuff I didn't on my 2022, but I could be wrong. At least it doesn't shake much if at all at idle, but on cold starts while warming up it appears to idle up and down ever so slightly.

22 XLT with about 27,000 miles on it. Have towed RV and trailers for about 8k and I've heard that noise off and on the entire time. I notice it is mostly on hills while hauling, although I seem to remember hearing it infrequently with no load. I never took it to Ford because i thought it had somethin to do with the turbos discharging (I'm not a car guy). Have had no issues with engine reliability or performance. I will watch to see what others experience. Thanks for asking as I have wondered about this as well. (y)
