I'm not sure what else to try. I have topped off my battery with a smart AGM charger. All doors are closed. Parking Brake On. Headlights Off.
The update says it will take 83 minutes. I manually start the update, shut the truck off and close the doors. Through the window I can see the system is counting down from 2 minutes. I have come back after 90 minutes to find the update still ready to be installed.
Any help is appreciated. 1FTFW1E57PFB54246

It's failing due to the 12v battery. SoC is low and capacity is low. Try fully charging the battery again and to a BMS reset. Capacity is at 35 or 70 and charge is being reported to the cloud at well under 70%. An OTA will not install if it believes the battery is at the state yours is in.

Thanks for the quick reply Javier. One more question, if I can connect my trickle charger and manage to close the hood - is it acceptable, or common practice, to run the update while on external power?

You can try that. A trickle charger will be very slow, though. It will not do much to make an immediate difference in the state of your battery.

I replaced the battery this morning. 1st attempt failed. Trying it again after doing a BMS reset. Edit: 2nd failed as well. Wondering if the new battery needs to be driven/charged prior as well.

I had the same problem the dealer replaced the battery and it installed after several tries. A new battery may not be fully charged so drive it or put it on a charger for a while. You don't have a AGM battery it is a old school lead acid battery.

Keep trying the upgrade is worth the trouble.

You absolutely cannot use a trickle charger during an update like this. Battery voltage decays fairly quickly and you need something that can throw ~ 10 amps or more to hold or lift battery voltage during this long install/update process
