Howdy, I recently got my 2.7 F150. This is my third F150 with the 2.7 engine and I have already taken my truck in to get it check out for vibrations in the steering wheel, floorboards, and seats when I am around 75MPH. Our speed limits in Texas are fast and I would hate to have this truck like this since I am on the road alot. The dealership balanced all 4 tires and said concern was corrected, however it was not. Has anyone had this issue and if so what was the fix?

I had this on a 2017 Lariat. Road Force balance helped. It had Good Year Wranglers. Only really got better after i changed to Michelin Defenders.

I’ve got the same problem!! Drives me crazy. Took it for balancing and it was good. Let’s see what they tell me in the next visit to the dealership.

I just purchaseed my 2021 F150 a week ago. I didn't test drive it because I already driven enough at differend dealships. I picked this one because of the color and options. It is a supercrew XLT with sport package. It has the 20" wheels. I traded in a 2020 Sierra Elevation and got more than I paid for it. I needed (wanted) the 302A package. Anyway, I have a slight vibration at hwy speeds. I now have about 600 mile on the truck. I emailed my salesman and I set up an appointment with the dealership. It's not a crazy vibration but it's more than I should have on a brand new truck. My Sierra rode smooth. My 2018 Silverado was a smooth rider. My wife's 2020 Accord with 19" wheels rides smooth. I'm really concerned about this vibration. I hope then can fix it.

Does it feel like it us at tire rotation speed, or at driveshaft speed? I had a similar issue that was at tire rotation speeds. I replaced the tires with Michelin Defenders, stock size, and problem disappeared. 5k miles now with no issues.

I had vibration between 65 and 75, took it to a local tire shop and had all 4 wheels road force balanced. The worst tire/wheel was on the drivers side front. They adjusted and put the wheel on the back and it fixed 75% of the vibration to the point that I can live with it.

It sounds like a balance issue, or out of round tires. If the tires are out of round, there really is no cure other than new tires.

Brand new tires can have issues? I have another question. Do you guys take your truck back to the original dealership when discussing issues? I’m asking because my purchase dealership is an hr away and I have another Ford dealership 10 mins away. I can afford to be wasting an entire day driving 2 hrs round trip and trying to find away home if they have to keep it.

Also sometime between me picking out the truck and they detailing it and me signing papers, I scratch appeared on the driver side door. They tried to buff it out but that didn’t work. They are going to repaint the door.

I purchased a Black Widow last week, well sorta, it's still at the dealers due to the windshield recall. But I did let them know I noticed a wobble in the steering wheel at anything over 50mph when I test drove it.

They performed a balance and alignment, but the wobble remains. They also reached out to their SCA rep, and apparently he has a few trucks on hand right now and they wobble as well. So apparently they are aware (or a least SCA is)

They are waiting to hear what the resolution is, whether that be from Ford, or in my case SCA. I have no idea how or why SCA would put all these aftermarket parts on it, and still send them out when the steering clearly wobbles at 50+mph.

Bit of a bummer, haven't even taking the truck home, and it's already had a windshield replacement and wobbles at speed... sigh.

Yes brand new tires can have issues, I have had my tire shop replace a couple that I bought from them, because they were out of round.

Same issue here! Balanced twice.

How do you check for out of round tires?

The tire shop balancing them should see this, if not, jack up the truck and turn each wheel with something just touching the face of the tread, if it touches the tread, and moves away as the wheel turns, the tire is out of round. This will also show you if a rim is bent, by putting your reference on the sidewall as you turn the wheel.

A simple check for out of round is to jack the wheel in question off of the ground. Place an object (can, bottle, etc) near the center of the tire tread but not touching it. Rotate the tire by hand and see if the space between the tire and object varies much with each revolution. I would be concerned if more than 1/8 inch. Rear wheels require transmission in neutral.
Thought I would update my post. 1/8 inch is my seat of pants guess. May be too much.
Something else to check is mounting of tire on wheel. Nearly all tires have a ridge molded all the way around to compare against edge of wheel it mounts on. It should be equally spaced all the way around. A fix may be as simple as popping the bead loose (both sides) , reapply tire soap and
inflate tire again and maybe rebalance.
