I can't see the extended lines for each module with the Forscan I have.
No ability to make incremental changes in values like weights.
Do I need a different version or update?
I loaded the Forscan into my Laptop three days ago. Version 2.3.55
I am able to make changes the the modules by changing numbers in the three blocks.
....but I am not able to change anything incrementally, in the VDM module, to modify the suspension settings.
You can see in this photo that the Modules are on the left, and then there are incremental change columns on the right.
When I open my Forscan, I do not see the right columns.
OK, thanks, I understand.
But what I DON'T understand, is what values do I enter into Forscan to make the suspension changes ?
I have been looking at GMC trucks for the last month. I can't live with this suspension much longer ! Switching to Sport on the freeway is fine, but around town the trans lags and sticks in gear so much it's intolerable.....
I have been waiting 16 weeks for a Ford dealer service appointment to deal with this and 14 other issues on the vehicle.....
What year model is your truck and have you ever had anyone check your VIN for PCM updates?
A 2021-2022(Job1) truck will be helped noticeably by the improvements in drivability that the multiple PCM updates that Ford has released since the earlier builds. On the Powerboost the refinements are wonderful.
You might also try unplugging the rear driver's side CCD shock and see if you aren't just happier with the maximum damping setting full time?
I find it tempting to do if I wasn't going to go through the fuss of "tuning" the VDM and modifying the suspension physically. (RAS/Antisway bars/etc)
Ahhh.
Sounds like you have definitely drilled down to explore the possibilities to tweak the CCD.
I know it took me a bit of effort to get the truck where I'm pleased with the day to day lightly loaded drivability. It's subjective, no doubt, but with the VDM massage, RAS lightly applied, Antisway, and the well behaved 10r80 locked out of 10th (sometimes 8th & 9th) I have settled on I believe to be a pretty refined land yacht.
This is my 3rd F150, and it is the worst driving/running vehicle I have ever owned, by a wide margin, so far. That includes Silverados, Ford Transits.
I still can't see how to enter in the values in the VDM module to get the suspension to change.
All the other module change tutorials show the * value to be changed and offer that value or number.
Can you help please ?
There is no tutorial for the VDM module that I know of. In fact, I know of very few people who even touch the AsBuilt values in the VDM module.
To edit the AsBuilt values you simply overwrite the existing values appropriately and save the changes.
