I scuffed my back bumper on a concrete wall in a parking garage. The rear sensor didn't beep and warn me - maybe due to the angle I was backing in?

Anyway I found this touch up paint pen kit on amazon.
TouchUpDirect AZ/M7446A Star White Metallic Tricoat Compatible with Ford Exact Match Touch Up Paint Combo - Essential Kit
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BZ6X2BCD/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1

Has anyone used it before? Will it match my Star White Metallic and still sparkle in the sunlight?

Let me know if anyone has better ideas than an expensive trip to the paint/body shop.

Thanks.

You will need to find the color code for Ford's Star White Metallic and buy a tiny jar of that color before using this product. As for sparkle in the sunlight....are you constantly looking at your rear bumper in the daylight?

I only notice and like the sparkle in the sunlight when looking at the entire truck - not on specific sections. I do notice the small scuffs on my bumper and will look at that section more than other people after I've painted it with the touch up pen. I suppose people that don't know it was scuffed won't specifically look at it unless I do a poor job with the pen.

I've used something similar and have gotten good results, but not great results. Instead of a pen, I would get a small bottle of paint as @discothan noted above. You will need to buff the area first and remove all of the scruff marks, which will come off easily with a buffer and fine rubbing compound. You can also put the compound on a cloth, and buff it by hand making sure to keep the area wet. I prefer a tiny brush or toothpick and dab the paint in the chipped areas. It may take a few coats to fill the chip spot. You will get much better results than you will with a pen, so that it won't be noticeable unless you know where to look. On a scale of 1 to 10 where 10 is a repaint by a good body shop, you can get to around an 8.

Thanks for the advice. I’ll try what you suggest. I’ll be fine with an 8 out of 10.

I used Ford touchup paint to fill in a chip (a toothpick really helped fill it in rather than use the brush included) and Langka Blob Remover to level it out and blend it in.

Some final questions:
1. Should I also buy Ford clear coat and apply it as the last step after applying the ford star white metallic and smoothing with the Langka blob remover - or will the clear coat pen work I have work better?
2. I assume I'll need to use the Langka blob remover to smooth/buff the clear coat too?

Thanks.

Several sights demand you buy their clear coat but I think it is BS for small touch ups.

The OEM Ford pen comes with clearcoat. The Langka dulled the touchup clearcoat so I finished with a light polish to bring the shine back.

On a recent 2600 mile trip, a chunk of truck tire flew up and put a nice chip on the leading edge of my hood. I watched this video, start 4 minutes in to cut to the chase. But anyway I used a paint pen from Amazon for 9 bucks and loaded with drops of paint from the dealer supplied touch up paint. It took 2 applications of paint to make it completely fill and some light polishing. Once complete you would need a magnifying glass to find the repair. This method is way better than anything I've ever found.
