My old truck has an SD card reader and I just left the SD in there for music. Has anyone used a USB-microSD dongle for music? Does it work okay scrolling through artists and songs?

FWIW I use this Samsung 256GB flashdrive plugged into the USB C port in my Lariat (the one under the sliding-cover cubby forward of the console shifter), I never remove it except to add more albums.

All FLAC files, artist>album>song folder hierarchy with ~250 artists, ~500+ albums, ~7000+ song tracks.

All SYNC search and scroll functions work perfectly but I use the super-easy one-button on the steering wheel voice command almost exclusively for calling up artist, album, or song and it's amazingly accurate. I set USB as my music source and that 'sticks' as my default all the time as I prefer. Love it.

I keep a printed copy of the album list in my console for a reminder of what I have and for passenger use (attached).

yes it will work just fine however you are adding 'bulk' to make a dongle / adapter
it is probably time to copy the music from the sd card to a small form factor usb-c drive

Similar here... I use a SanDisk Ultra Fit drive that I had; only 32GB but I don't have any FLAC so it's big enough (for now). It's USB A and just stays plugged in all the time. The menu seemed tedious to scroll but voice commands have worked well. It would be cool to plug it in inside the console (out of the way) but those USB are listed as Charge Only.

I never even thought of just eliminating the SD all together. Perfect, that's what I'll do. I used to keep all my music on my phone on a 256 GB micro SD but none of these new androids have that anymore.
