Good morning, As some of you may know, I had an issue when I installed my UPR Catch Can Plug n Play kit on my 24 3.5L ECOBOOST FX4. The issue was I ended up getting an error code P051B. So I took the Catch can system off, then I called UPR Monday. I spoke with Steve, and apparently this is a new issue with the gen 2 engine that has the blue connectors on the CVV (Clean side). I told Steve what parts I hade and he is sending me the short Crankcase breather valve with the hose for it. I will be returning the small catch can. There is also an issue and they are working on it, that Ford changed something, because i am the 4th person with this issue and error code. At First Steve thought that it could be the Aftermarket Cold Air intake, because all the Trucks had Cold Air Intakes except for mine. so that takes him back to square one.

I have to hand it to UPR with outstanding customer service and working on a fix for those of us that have the newer engine/ newer F-150’s I believe he said this is also happening in the Raptor as well. But I am not 100% on that. UPR has great products and the quality of the kit was second to none.

is there anyone else out there that has this same issue?

Yes, Gen 3 started in '21.
Glad I saw this. I was considering a catch can for the wife's '21 3.5 EB. Guess that's a No Go for now.

I have the J&L catch can on my 22 Tremor 3.5 without issue. Also have the J&L on my wife's 22 Aviator 3.0 without issue.

Thanks, good to know. Guess it's a UPR thing.

I think that what may be happening is that the UPR catch cans are causing too much crank case pressure in the newer Eco Boost trucks. You could easily order and add one of these like I did with my closed can system for my 2023 5.0L. And I’m almost certain that it’ll solve the issue. But yes Steve over at UPR has a great team! They’ll definitely get down to the bottom of it!

I've had the J&L for 2 years now (34,000 miles) on my 2023 PB with no issues.

I apologize, I didn’t realize we were on the Gen 3 engine. Sorry for any confusion. I do have the one way breather valve as well. I had it on when I got the check engine light and error code. I did try it without the one way valve also and no change.

Steve put me on his list along with the 4 other people and when they get a fix he will let me know. I will then let you fine folks know as well. He did send me the CVV valve and house that goes to the T connection and I will see if that fixes my issue. If it does either way i will let you all know. I am not running a Cold Air Intake yet, but I plan on getting the AFE System with there snorkel.
