Good morning crew.
Just want to run some stuff past the members that have more experience and possibly their wisdom.

I have the opportunity to buy a 23 Raptor at a pretty good price. My trade in is also priced VERY well. I'll be making money on my trade and getting the 23 at a decent deal.

Anyone gone from a XLT/similar optioned truck to a Raptor?

I tow my bass boat occasionally on the weekend to the lake and don't really tow anything else. I'll miss the tow mirrors, but I feel like I'll be able to look past that with the nice accoutrement's the Raptor has to offer.

Is there anything I need to be on the lookout for?
At what mileage should I think about getting the shocks rebuilt? It has 54k on the clock.

I did notice that once I went to the "Baja" setting on the exhaust, it froze up and wouldn't allow anymore exhaust functions through the cluster, I'm assuming the actuator is bad?

My truck has 27k, Raptor has 54K.

Going from a gen 14 3.5 XLT To a gen 14 raptor isn't really going to do much for you. You know where your truck's mileage came from, a 23 raptor with 54k sounds like a pavement princess, but that's just guessing.

I went from a 21 XLT 302A max tow powerboost (bought new and put 59k miles) to a 2022 Raptor 37 package (15k miles). I don’t tow at all, but the biggest thing of course is MPG. I used to get 21/26 and now 15/18.

I think a Raptor is what it is, but tbh 54k miles on a Raptor is steep for my liking, unless you’re getting it for mid $50k which I doubt.

I did. They gave me stupid money for my 22, so it left. I was worried about the mileage, but I talked them into tossing a 4 year 48k warranty. I also drive 4.4 miles to work every day and I have a P2 Volvo and a Vrod to drive/ride if the weather is decent.

Oh man, that's rough on ICE vehicles - not enough time with fluids up to operating temp and burn-off condensation.

specially small displacement turbo engines that all manufacturers has gone to… that’s why i think is a good thing to let the engine run for a few minutes prior to driving…. But then again im old school and still turn off the HVAC after turning off any of my vehicles( habit) lol

Oh I know. Former Ford Tech.
Luckily my drive consist of about 4 of those miles being interstate driving above 55 mph. I know it sounds odd but where I live makes it very easy to get around. Its not 4 miles of backroads doing 35. I would say it gets driven about 3 days a week, if that. The rest is put on the volvo that I haven't been able to grenade and has over 300k on it. That one has a 2.4L turbo.
