Twas the Squeak Before Shutdown

‘Twas the shutdown of engine, when out by the street,
My PowerBoost whistled—a high-pitched defeat.
The pistons were resting, the coolant went still,
Yet the heat exchanger squeaked of its own free will.

The wrenches were nestled all snug in their drawer,
While visions of TSBs danced by the score.
When out on the driveway there rose such a squeal,
I sprang from the cab to confirm it was real.

Away to the hood latch I flew like a flash,
Tore open the panel and muttered expletive trash.
The moon on the chrome gave a holiday sheen,
As my truck mocked me softly—"You should’ve just leased me and saved some green."

Now coolant! Now hoses! Now fan blades and clamps!
On thermostats! On Sensors! On all you hybrid amps!
From the tip of the turbo to the bed’s plastic cap,
I’ll find out what’s squeaking before I collapse.

Then silence returned—brief, fleeting, and frail,
‘Til it squeaked once again, like a rodent on ale.
So I laughed in defeat, with mechanical mirth,
Merry Christmas, you gremlin-and the best truck on Earth.

Oof this hits hard going on day 8 in the shop still doing diagnostics with Ford to determine what to replace... Lattest culprate a timing belt tensionor they say. How many days before I get real worried?

This had me laughing hard. Sorry to hear about the issues though… I hope mine doesn’t do that.

Clever poetry but clearly a bad news story. Sorry about your experience. I had my used 22 PB at dealer twice-- gave'em a week each time - for squeak at ICE to electric. First fix was a hoax. Valve only. Squeak resumed. Second fix was whole exhaust and valve. Problem solved. Hope it's for real.

Thanks. My truck is past the B2B warranty and from my understanding Premium Care doesn't cover it. I'll probably reach out to the dealer to see if the one time replacement campaign for the exchanger will cover this.
