Turn Signal Sound Stopped

Weird thing happened today, my turn signal sound stopped working. The turn signal still blinks both on the dash and outside but I don’t get the “click click” sound anymore when it’s on. Everything seems to be normal but the sound.

Anyone else experienced this?

That would actually be kinda nice to me...

I learned with my fusion that the turn signal sound is just an audio file playing through a speaker and that if any other unswitched audio signal is used (like a seatbelt dinger or such) the turn signal is muted during that aural warn function.

That's the day I realized that I'm old enough to remember the clicking coming from actual relays and probably among the last generation that would know why turn signals click.

Anyhow, I would imagine (based on a very limited understanding of modern Ford programming) that the audio file is either not receiving its command or that the speaker for aural warning is failing.

I'll ask my brother (Ford engineer) and see if he has any insights

Well, adding to the confusion with this, the audio indicator is working again. I didn’t change anything but after two or three restarts of the truck it just started working again. I will report back if it stops again.

I found absolutely nothing. Dealership blew it off because it wasn’t happening at the time I had it in. They had never heard of the problem before. I haven’t had it happen again.

Mine does this seemingly randomly fairly often. Most times I actually only lose half of the sound, as in it normally makes a noise when on and then when off, but mine will only make a noise on one of those. It works again on the next drive until it randomly starts happening again.

Somewhat related so I thought I’d post.

SInce owning my truck from November of last year, I have gotten in my truck 2-3 times maybe and noticed that every tone/chime has changed in sound. Door open chime is diffrernt, seat belt chime is different, turn signal is different. Really odd.

After a power cycle, it all goes back to normal..

If you hear a different chime it’s because the audio amp or acm if you don’t have an amp wasn’t detected at time of startup and reverted to the cluster speaker.

I hate it when it does this.

This has happened to me on several occasions since I picked up my '22 last June. Happened just tonight as well after even having the latest OTAs they rolled out in the last week or so.

Yep, happens to my '22 KR randomly. Comes and goes.

same issue on my 22 lariat. happened randomly had to restart the truck three times for it to come back.
