I am currently running 295/60R20 Nitto Recon Grapplers on 20x9 Fuel Rebel wheels (+20 offset). My wife has been complaining that the ride is too rough, I figure it is because of the E rated tires. So I am considering 2 options to soften my ride:

1) 305/55R20 SL Rated tire - Going to SL vs E should soften up the ride, but this tire is slightly smaller (33.2" vs 33.9"). I could also use the same rims

2) 305/65R18 E Rated tire - Still an E rated tire, but more sidewall. This tire is 33.6" vs 33.9". I would have to go to 18" rims, but I am ok with doing that, I kind of like the look of more sidewall.

I am considering Falken Wildpeaks for both, I like the look of the Nittos but I think the Falkens may be better for the rain and snow.

I am wondering if the two options would ride similar, or if 2) would still be too bumpy? I just wanted to get some opinions... Money is not a factor, I am just looking for the best combination of looks and ride comfort.

275 65 20 gets you to 34" and only tire in SL is recon grappler. What does your truck weigh and what pressures are you running?

It's a Lightning so it's heavy. Currently running about 42psi.

I'm going to chime in here, only due to running almost the same setup, the only dif. is I'm running on 55's series non "E" version of that Recon Grappler. My truck rides smoothly and zero complaints from a few passengers this year, so far. Obv. dif. 20x9" rims, but I think that wouldn't be the issue, and more so a suspension setup. I've been told it rides like a Navi or a Caddy, for whatever that's worth.

PS. I'm still on stock suspension with the FX-4 & MAX Tow options.

Big battery? Yeah, you've got the mass so it's probably just too much tire mass / the nature of them. My REVO 3s are on the border of acceptability on my PB at ~6400lbs (LT275-65-20). Can't speak to snow capabilities but they're rated pretty high. They won't win any sidewall beauty contests but they look much better than factory.

With my 44X17X15's I ran 20lbs in them. The more area they covered the more weight they supported at a lower pressure.
