The door handle lock/unlock does not work for either Fob. When I get in the truck I can start it, but then a message in the dash pops up stating, "key fob not detected". Have tried BMS reset, and reset the fobs. Truck is less than a month old. Any insights? Hate to take it to a dealer already.

Thanks for the help.

Wow.
On a previous '14 DDurango and our current '18 VW Alltrack both out of the blue, a similar issue would occur and the owners manual would say to place the fob next to the steering column in a particular place ("reboot" the fob-software recognition?)..seemed to occur more w/ the winter, cold temps.

You wearing blue jeans or heavy pants? Mine does that sometimes when I wear those types of pants and the fob is in my pocket. Also, not sure what year you have could have low fob battery.

When it happens, put the fob in the "PROGRAMING SLOT" in the cup holder. Does the truck "SEE" the fob then? I would change the batteries in the fobs, 2032's. Does this happen at home? I have a dead spot where for some reason, the truck can't read the fob. It is at a drive up teller. I have to put the fob into the programing slot, even when the truck is running, to put it into gear.

I hate to ask the obvious, but did you try changing the battery in one of the fobs? The same thing was happening with the fob I always use on a different vehicle, and once I changed the battery it worked fine.

Yeah, my (new) routine for the past 4 years is to change them out and check pressure in all spare tires @ 2 years (don't ask me why).

This (i.e., "key fob not detected" message) happens on all three of my new-ish Fords (at least 1-2 times per month on each).

I'm using aftermarket fobs for them so that could be part of the problem.

Having said that, my fix is easy. When the message pops up I press the lock button and then the unlock button on the fob. Message disappears. Problem solved until next time.

Have not changed them. Wouldn’t think i need to because all other functions work and the truck is so new.

I have put the keys in the program slot and did the reset process. I will change batteries and see if that fixes the issue. Both fobs have the same issue and happens anywhere.

Pickup is a 2024. Will replace batteries and see if that helps.
