I know this has been addressed on other threads but I am having several transmission issues on my ‘20 5.0.
When cold, the transmission shifts hard between 1st and 3rd and sometimes feels like it jumps to neutral before engaging. I am 2 minutes from the highway. When I turn onto the highway, it feels like it goes from 3rd to neutral and will sometimes drop back to first when I am trying to accelerate. Needless to say, this is very unnerving when cars are coming from behind at 65.
Once the transmission is up to temp, everything shifts fine.
I noticed on other threads that Ford has asked for VIN #s and local dealers. Has anyone followed up with them to get a fix to the problem? I called my local dealer and they were a month out and said they would reset the adaptive learning and that should fix the problem however I had this done by my local mechanic recently and the fix lasted for less than 4 days. Please chime in as I now know this is a common problem.
