2021 XLT here, 37,000 on the clock. Drained transfer case and refilled with AMSOIL ATF they spec’d for this truck about a month ago. Fluid was low and pretty dark. Busted up a couple of the skid plate u-nuts back then so got new ones and went back under the truck to replace the skid plate bolts and nuts.
Anyone ever notice what looks like fluid seepage on the back side of the transfer case? I feel like it’s seeping because the pool as at the top side of the valley and not the bottom where you’d expect loose fluid to pool. Happening in a few different spots.
I cleaned it all off and will monitor but thought I’d pose the question here for the experts.
Truck was CPO with whatever extended warranty that comes with. If it is seeping I wonder if they’ll cover it…

Did you have your truck oil sprayed. Looks like over spray from that to be honest. Nothing is be concerned about.

I have not. I’ll monitor it.
I figured it was strange gravity didn’t make it drop down

Maybe airflow under the truck. Not sure. Doesn't look like much to be worried about though.

Well, first thing you gotta do is get a spotless clean. Use some mention degreaser in an old toothbrush and scrub the crap out of it.

Once that’s done, 10-15 mile drive, then climb underneath with an inspection mirror and a good flashlight.

I’ve definitely cleaned it up and will keep an eye on it.

yeah, that’s really about all you can do, a dealer is not going to reseal your case for a seep.

Normally, they won’t do anything until it’s actually to the point of dripping on the ground or creating quite a bit of wet area behind the component

I've got a 21 Lariat and my transfer case has been resealed twice in the last year and 15K miles. Truck has 47K miles on it currently. I just got it back a week ago from the second time.
Each time both input shaft seal and output shaft seal were leaking. The dealer mentioned it's pretty common. I'm glad I've got the 100K warranty if that's the case. If it happens again, I may ask if they can just replace it.
