only labor is $50?? that sounds too good to be true!I have seen people say the cameras would need to be calibrated, but a trim guy at the dealership said it would be plug and play. One thing I was thinking about doing, but have not pulled the trigger on yet, is to purchase the mirrors from the Ford accessories site. There you can schedule to have them installed at a dealer of your choice for $50. If that is the case, I would not think they would give it back to you if the cameras were not calibrated. Have you bought the mirrors yet?
Well damn weren’t you correct.I have seen people say the cameras would need to be calibrated, but a trim guy at the dealership said it would be plug and play. Yeah but my d*ck ass dealership left it out of my order and i didn’t even know until my window sticker had populated which by then was too late to take any action.how does power telescope work i.e. how is the adjustment done, if they didn't come installed from factory?
It’s actually really easy and simple. The kit comes with a new trim for the window switch and the power extend switch included and you just swap it out. Plug for power extend is in the lariat and up harness already. Takes about 15-20 minutes for the whole swap. Did it to my lariat in January with that kit and as mentioned the cameras do have a calibration code show up but that doesn’t stop them from working. It will stop reverse break assist though.Powerscope is possible to add if you didn’t have it from the factory but is not simple.
do you think you could’ve installed power folding and power extending tow mirrors on your XLT?I swapped from standard mirrors to the manual fold tow mirrors. I do have 360 cameras. You will need to recalibrate the cameras after the install. If you don't, the image won't quite line up correctly, and you will get a Reverse Brake Assist Not Available error every time you shift into reverse.
If I did it all over again, I'd pay the dealer the $50 and make sure they recalibrated before I left. It's even more worth it if you're buying the power fold mirrors since there are a few more steps involved.
Almost forgot, you'll need Forscan to activate the side marker lights on the tow mirrors. From what I have read, dealers can't or don't know how to do this.
Absolutely, I just didn't want to pay $1600 for them. I think you'll need to make some Forscan changes to get them fully operational.do you think you could’ve installed power folding and power extending tow mirrors on your XLT?
