Hi all,

I am wanting a confirmation as to what this “camera” is for. I believe it is for adding. Camera for your trailer? When I select this camera I get a blue screen:

It's a long one, but this is the definitive thread about installing the Ford Accessory Trailer Cam (and / or Trailer TPMS).

Note that not all F150s having the button shown in the first post are plug-and-play ready for the Ford Accessory trailer cam and / or TPMS kit. Some (many?) lack complete wiring in the truck's '12-pin connector harness' (you can blame Ford for that random inconsistency ), but that can be overcome, the explanation and answers are found in the long thread I link above.

If you have questions, please post them in that thread.

Have Fun, Good Luck. :)

Can you explain what type of phone you have and how you mirror it? I have never gotten this to work with my iPhone.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, but using the Naviks interface, this can be done with any phone that has the capability to use its charging port as HDMI out. If you tried to use a Magic Box or one of those little boxes to mirror your phone and had problems, they've gotten better but they are not as good as this. The Naviks modules also a lot more expensive and you have to partially take apart your console/dash to get to it because you install it directly onto your APIM and run a hardwire HDMI cable from it to your phone. This is not some Bluetooth mirroring device.....this module completely hi-jacks your APIM and takes over your touchscreen when using HDMI. You can put it in reverse and you get no cameras or nothing unless you turn it off.

Nevermind, I read up on that awesome sounding Naviks device and see how it works now. Sounds like a cool solution, going to find out more about it.

Thanks for the info. Can you tell us what kind of trailer camera(s) you used and how you connected it? I'd like to get cameras for my trailer and ideally have them show up on the 12" screen and be great resolution. Also, it is easy/quick to switch back and forth between the cameras showing on the screen and CarPlay/NAV?

Yea, to switch from the Naviks back to Sync, you just hold the back button on the steering wheel for 2 seconds.

I used this camera:

https://www.camerasource.com/wireless-camera-kit-compatible-with-furrionr-prewire?q=cs-fw

The coaxial cable is plugged into the Naviks module behind the dash, and I ran the wire for the antenna under the carpet and mounted the antenna behind the rear seatback to have it as close to the whatever I am towing as possible.

To power the camera, I cut off the plug it came with and made it into a cigarette lighter plug to just plug it into one of my boat's 12v batteries when I am using it with one of these:

There are many ways to do this, but this is what I did and it works great for me.

One more thing to anyone that decides to go with a Naviks module: If I had to do the install all over again, the only thing I would do differently is to leave a USB plugged into the Naviks module that I can access. This is make it easy to update the firmware on it without having to take apart the console/dash to get to it.
