Toppers: Westin EXP or Overland Vehicle Systems

Curious if anyone has any experience with either of the two subject toppers? Links below. Both look like a good fit in the website pics, but looking to hear to some real-life feedback or opinions.

Personally I prefer the Leer because it blends more naturally with the truck and they can match the paint.

Or go full smoothbrain like me, bypass the middle-man and go right to an Alibaba manufacturer lol. Honestly though I think this may be the route. It is all aluminum and was just shy of 1,200 delivered.

Are you planning on mounting stuff on to the topper? If not, I would also go with fiberglass, Leer/Century/etc.

My century topper never missed a beat, including some serious off-roading in my old truck.

I'll probably put some cross-bars on top and carry kayaks up there occasionally, but I'm not planning on running a rooftop tent or anything up there full time.

Quality seems legit. I honestly believe a lot of these non-smartcap brands you are seeing pop up are just slapping their brand on these.

Experience so far has been great. From time of purchasing to delivery was just shy of 3 months. Seller sent updates and photos during the build process. They had a ton of options as well such as front cab and side sliding windows, I kept my build simple though.

Install was super straight forward, just a ton of bolts and a bit time consuming. Took myself and a buddy to lift on was all. This being aluminum was very light actually. Waterproofing seems great, I went above an beyond though and siliconed all the seams once assembled.

I was surprised to find that it has custom made brackets for the f150 to tie into the bed hook bolt holes, along with the standard clamps for added support. So wasn't just a rough dimension and clamp it on fit, was actually made for the truck.

Not sure the rules on posting links here, but the seller I used was Guangzhou Tanjing Auto Products Co., Ltd. . Basically the way Alibaba works (from what I have learned anyways) Is you find a product similar to what you are looking for and then start a convo with them, from there you tell them what you are looking for and quantity then they give you the options and a final price shipped, then send you a custom order page to finalize. So if you dont see the exact model you want don't worry, they should be able to make it work.
