The interior lights on my 21 XLT are acting strange. I noticed this after the "10 days at the dealer software update recall" that I just endured. I also just recently had a cap installed which includes a third brake light and interior lights. The cap lights are tied into the truck lighting system thus turning on via the bed light switch and turning off automatically. Seems to be working fine.
Problem. I was driving my grandson and he turned on the reading light above pass rear seat and it would not turn off. I played with a bunch or settings and turned it on and off via the front overhead console switch and got it working correctly. BUT, now the drivers side rear interior light will not turn on and off via the overhead console switch. BUT it will turn on and off with the actual light BUT it will not turn off automatically.
Dealer blames the wiring tied in by the cap installer and wants $159 to debug then admits it would probably not be covered by my ESP.
Any thoughts?
