I am ignorant to this...all perspective are welcome.

This seems a lot like an advertisement. Why don't you post a picture of your truck as an introduction!

Awesome. That's a nice looking truck! Good luck with the tonneau decision.

The Bakflip is made of Aluminum and is relatively thin and light on the panels. But that also means they have divets from hail and such. I'm wondering if the fiberglass would withstand dents or dings better than aluminum, but I wonder how bulky it would be to flip. Fortunately for you, from what I've seen on the website you won't go wrong with either.

The bakflip with the rails is the one I really want but the other half is balking at the idea of spending that much..

and that is the dilemma between the 2 in this post, one is made with FRP and is suppose to withsand 400 pounds, scratches and dent and the other is a heavier duty one out of alum... I just can't decice between the 2

Because of the dents in mine, I'd be inclined to try the fiberglass just because I'd want to know the comparison. So if it were me, based on what I have now, I'd go fiberglass. This only shifts the coin toss from 50/50 to 51/49, but I hope it helps. Good Luck.

You should check out the Worksport AL3. I have it for about a month now and love it.

I'll be the devil's advocate..... The name of the "company" is gibberish--the first clue. When I see little phrases like "value added" and/or poorly worded text in an ad, I'm VERY leery of the site. Plenty of "reviews" but no Q&A's. No actual pics of real vehicles with the actual product, but only AI/computer generated images. I clicked on the install instructions and the name of the file is in Chinese. Lots of red flags, to me at least. Caveat Emptor !! It's your hard earned money, so do as you wish. If it were me, I would look elsewhere. As for the price of a Bakflip (I've owned 3 including the one on my 24 F150), the old adage of "buy once, cry once" rings true.

There is a bunch of youtube videos of people reviewing these covers. I almost pulled the trigger on one myself but spent a little more money and bought a Worksport. My hold off with Oedro and their sister companies is they only offer a 1 year warranty. I did buy their under seat storage bin for my F150.

I'm of the same opinion as @Rinn69 here. Personally I'd save up a little more and buy something from one of the more reputable companies.

However, to answer your questions: The fiberglass cover should be a little lighter vs the aluminum, if that's a concern. It could be more likely to crack though if you abuse it or get caught in hail. The aluminum panels on my Leer folding cover feel pretty sturdy, but I'm not sure how the covers you are looking at compare to that. It is heavy though, but not so much I couldn't install it myself with a little effort.
