this little flucking guy almost bite me this morning

i was standing on porch waiting for ms dog to come back up and go in, when i turned around there was this little turd about five feet from me coiled and striking in the air. i thought...hey dummy your only 1 foot or so long i will crush you like a bug.

so i tell dog to back up and wait, i grabbed the porch broom and held the critter down to make sure he was a cotton mouth and or rattles snaky and not an imposter snake like a blind texas snake etc. nope he had the diamond shaped head, spitting crap and opening up like a reach toothbrush commercial
so i FLICKED him into the garden and put dog in house

walked out to barn and grabbed a shovel and made the guts this guy showing go from inside to outside and split him in 2 pieces.. this is 10 or so this week on our street... momma snake must have been a busy bee earlier

you think its a milk snake? all my pics for snakes here run to cotton mouth to western diamond back
we have tons of rat snakes, bullwhips , racers etc but they are never aggressive
i really try to never ever kill snakes, but he was having none of me pushing him aside so i could open the door, i get enough skinks doing the dart inside they are hard enough to catch

up close he was wide headed and striking at me like a venom snake
rats snakes sort of raise head and say hi then haul butt, this guy was standing his new ground.

i hope its not a non venom snake, but i was not picking him up , i swept him away and he slithered right back at me

he was playign bad guy and once he exspired his head was no longer the diamond . i did a half asss necropsy in a dish

Ya I know very little about snakes especially in that neck of the woods. He looked like a little bad ass to me and I may have done same.
